Thailand anticipates record 2.2 million Russian tourists in 2024
BigStar replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is great. Russians are much less annoying than Brits and speak better English. They don't bother you with phony smiles. Germans, now, have ALWAYS been aloof and never walked around with goofy smiles on their faces. And that was never any cause for complaint by ANF posters. I dunno why anybody objects to Russians doing the same. The best thing is all those Russian hotties coming to the beaches in their thongs. Looking forward to my beach walks again, as far fewer are out there now. OH--to preempt the usual rejoinder, where there's a fat momma, look for the daughter! Bring 'em on. -
Outrage Sparked in Thailand Over Apple's 'Out of Office' Advert
BigStar replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Tourism hasn't "gone down," except during COVID, and since then has been recovering nicely, all considered. Economically, Thailand didn't collapse but did even better after the decline in numbers of the Golden Egg Layers, who ran out of Golden Eggs, and the rise of domestic and more truly international tourism. True, B'wana, gone are the days when you could flip a few satang for smiles, servility, and butt kissing. A source of perpetual disappointment and bitterness on the forum. Thailand needs to be punished, so we rejoice in any bad news and regularly issue dire prophecies. Probably a good thing, as it's such a biased ad. It fails to mention that the quality of tourists is much better now as so many of them aren't Western tourists. Frequently we used to see Not so much any more. I wonder what these yobs would have done with the characters in the ad. Reminds me, as an aside, of Netanyahu's comment recently about Gays for Gaza being like "Chickens for KFC." -
Outrage Sparked in Thailand Over Apple's 'Out of Office' Advert

More an example of how media companies will play to Western ignorant stereotypes and "acceptable" soft bigotry IF they can get away with it. And our forum responses indicate how effective it is. Not effective with Thais, however. Too bad they won't give up their iPhones in protest. -
That's why you ask first and look around. You don't leave it all up to them, LOL. Both don't have to be super up for it, as one can be passive, and most accept that role. So they get things all warm and wet while you enjoy the show. You've been missing out, all these years. Sad.

Point taken. Don't we have a leftist thread on the Turning Point speech yet? That's the one being hyped so much in the propaganda press. Trump does have all the votes he needs in FLA, no worries about a big get-out-the-vote effort there. New Hampshire, he has no hope anyway. Nothing to see here, really.

But they wouldn't have inserted a modern African, Muslim, Japanese, or Chinese city. No-o-o. -
Whatever you forgot was irrelevant nonsense. Leftists are typically ignorant about their ignorance.

No Thai wife, bg, ladyboy to blame for pushing him? -
Trump will never, ever be in prison. Nor does he believe he will. Sometimes I feel like I'm posting to a bunch of headless chickens.

Thoughts on the opening ceremony at the Paris Olympics
BigStar replied to spidermike007's topic in Political Soapbox
D-Day Soldier Blissfully Unaware France Will One Day Open Olympics With Naked Blue Smurf Demon "Come on, boys! It's time to liberate France!" Donovan cried as he fearlessly charged forward, only to be cut down by machine gun bullets. "It's all worth it. I'm sure France won't turn into a bunch of weird blasphemous perverts or anything." "That would never happen..." --https://babylonbee.com/news/d-day-soldier-blissfully-unaware-france-will-one-day-open-olympics-with-naked-blue-smurf-demon -

Thai Language Seen as Vital National Symbol, Survey Shows
BigStar replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The vast majority of Thais don't need to know English. Plenty of wealthy Thais don't, and you might wish you were so far behind as they are. Similarly, with the vast majority of Japanese. They do quite well w/o it. And better now that machine translations are getting so good. Was reading a comparison of translations and GPT-4 is pretty incredible. Those working in international fields need English, of course, to varying degrees, and they learn enough to get by. To address the OP obliquely, however, it's well known among the best educated Thais that the written language needs reform. However, it seems unlikely to happen,. -
Thai Language Seen as Vital National Symbol, Survey Shows

Incredible the losses to the Thai economy this has already caused. How could any English speaker be intelligent enough to figure the meanings of these signs. Funny Thaiglish. Hee hee. -
Figures, but then again you haven't realized you can sit back watch them go at a while before you join in. You have to ask about that first. Make sure a bit of lesbianism isn't a problem.

Taken out of context for yet another silly orange-man-bad Dem talking point, parroted by the propaganda press and inevitably by the gullible here on the forum. He had two points: first, he wouldn't be around for the next election, so no need to vote for him after this one; second, since these Christians are known for having a high percentage of people who don't vote at all, he's asking them to at least vote this one time. He was being facetious, but leftists always seize on and distort if possible. Meanwhile, Biden said Speaker Johnson would be "dead on arrival." WOT??? Aren't we totally outraged at that naked death threat against the Speaker of the House??? No, that gets a pass.🤡

Great movie and has some depth, too.

Where's the apology to our forum members for lying? "Were" isn't "are." And another lie: mostly. And you made that up. Oh, this gon' happen, that gon' happen. Orange Man BAD!!! Get over it yourself. You'd be much happier and stop wasting so much of your time and that of other forum members if you got over your obsession against Trump.

Outrage Sparked in Thailand Over Apple's 'Out of Office' Advert
BigStar replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
David Williams doesn't. I don't either. As an American, I'm familiar with American culture. Many Americans, like the Brits here, would enjoy the condescension and negative portrayal of other countries as primitive and backward. They love feeling superior. Lots of bigotry as we see on this thread. Seems to be no cure for it. No one said they were insulted. Williams said, "it painted an unattractive and outdated picture of Thailand to the world. He contrasted this with Apple ads shot in US cities, which positively portrayed those locations." He's right. No reason Thais should approve of such bias. It's annoying. -
No. The writers on Project 2025 aren't among Trump's current advisors, except in the sense that anyone may "advise" Trump if he wishes. Lots of our forum members, including yourself and other cat ladies, are constantly engaged in advising Trump. The Lincoln Project advises Trump, and you love it. The fraudulent 1619 Project helps the brainless left falsify history, and your hero of the moment, Kamala, believes their fiction. The project received varied reactions from political figures. Then-Democratic Senator Kamala Harris praised it in a tweet, stating "The #1619Project is a powerful and necessary reckoning of our history. We cannot understand and address the problems of today without speaking truth about how we got here."[30] --Wikipedia "Advisors" aren't staff, as you know but are lying about.
