  1. Cardiologists do. That's what Tina Turner thought. Ignore the conventional docs like she did.
  2. In theory, she could keep it a secret from her family to avoid that problem. But Thais seem unable to do that, unless she's a rare exception.
  3. This is a point. In some cases it must be taken seriously, e. g., banking apps. But, contrary to the views of our hi tech members living on the very cutting edge of technology, it doesn't reflect an absolute rule. If the old apps work fine, you can simply continue using them. Or you can simply change to another newer app in the same category that does the same thing as the older app. It's highly unlikely your tablet will be hacked. I don't do any banking on my old tablet--or phone, for that matter. I don't care if anything's updated, 'cause the apps I use all work fine. I might wish it would die, or a hotel maid would steal it, but then I'd have to spend time looking for another one in my preferred smaller size, ~8". Might have to bite bullet and get a larger one.
  4. Not at all, seems you're grumpy for my pointing out the time-wasting of your response re: the OP's request, as you've continued to waste time bickering, as is your wont. If you were really concerned about "good guidance," you should have pointed him to tablets that you think meet his requirements in the first place. Now in my post, I suggested the OP might have a chat with the vendor AND I pointed out a particular alternative AND mentioned others on the same page. And that was a good start after the OP had received nothing else remotely useful. All that 3G/4G, a fave subject, is irrelevant: that tablet WILL use the OP's WiFi. Specs often contain inaccuracies, esp. at lower price tiers, but the products remain viable. This one has good reviews and the vendor has a good rating. (FAKE! FAKE!) If not, just send them back, YAWN. Yes, I've had experience with exactly that situation, including specifically with a product you've sneered at previously that I used for years. It's still good; I changed it only for higher res. I pay little attention to our experts here and Big Spenders. An imperfect solution is better than no solution. Meanwhile, OP and kids are enjoying their new tablet.
  5. Definitely some poetry there. However, might well be good 'nuff. OP might give a try and return it if not. I have a cheap old tablet that works fine for similar limited purposes, e. g., surfing, chatting, Bolt, watching vids, and reading. If it or my cheap laptop is stolen, no sweat, bye bye. Meanwhile, you weren't in the least helpful. 🙂
  6. OMG. Could THAT really be it? But it seems you've fallen victim to the ANF Poster Boomerang Principle, so that your post merely reflects the power of your intellect. Our pretentious Calvinists need to lighten up. It's just a bit of light-hearted fun for a bit of publicity.
  7. Why not? Cool and comfortable. Not bad around the house. Can serve as pajama bottoms.
  8. Good for him and best wishes to this family.
  9. Used to be that CSI: ANF dicks would fill this kind of thread with posts insisting on the pushed theory and questioning whether the BIB had checked for all the obvious evidence. Perhaps the forum really has improved. Now years ago we did have a spate of ANF Tunnel Construction Engineers jumping from flophouses on Soi Buakhao after it became the clear that the Tunnel was absolutely NOT going to flood, contrary to years of the smug sneers and predictions. Turned out that water flows downhill. For days you could hardly walk around without hearing the thud of a falling body. However, these recent cases seem unrelated to disappointment over the failure of Dire Predictions.
  10. I merely asked a reasonable, logical question once. Then you got obsessed with my asking, couldn't comprehend what exactly I was asking, and spouted some nonsense--which I kindly answered for you, twice. And here you are a third time. Why's that? Oh, it is, and clearly he REALLY does not want to, as I made clear. Seems rather odd, the hiding, now doesn't it? And it is totally up to me if I ask my question of him as well, since HE brought up the subject. And I have the right to laugh at the silly contradiction, asking other people to answer the very question he himself won't. Is there more to your obsession?
  11. Wrong. Try to think clearly. I'm asking why swissie won't say why he likes petite women, since he's so curious about WHYs. <snipped> nonsense based on wrong premise.
  12. No one has the slightest interest in what kind of females swissie likes, not even his wife. But he emphasizes his topic is WHY: Back on topic: Who loves who and WHY? After blathering about "some bodyly [sic] 'smells.'" So why doesn't he answer his own question WHY before asking others for their WHYs? Perfectly reasonable, logical question.
  13. And Brits could rename Platinum Platinium, or Molybdenum Molybdenium, or Tantalum Tantalium--but they don't. Even Brit pretentiousness has its limits. Americans properly follow Sir Humphrey Davy, its discoverer, in his spelling of Aluminum in his published Chemical Philosophy in 1812. Evidently he thought words of more than 3 or 4 syllables are too taxing? And that spelling found some currency, as you may discover in the OED; 1812 Sir H. Davy Chem. Philos. I. 355 As yet Aluminum has not been obtained in a perfectly free state. 1833 Penny Cycl. I. 406 Alumina, the earthy oxide of aluminum sometimes called argil or the argillaceous earth. 1855 in Proc. Am. Phil. Soc. VI. 141 Mr. DuBois laid upon the table specimens of the metal aluminum. 1879 C. Cameron in Cassell's Techn. Educ. I. 170 Aluminum is a white malleable metal. Noah Webster, bless 'im, rid American English of a lot of antiquated British spelling anyway and, in his dictionary of 1828, simply followed Davy's spelling, thus becoming the standard.
  14. Should be fine for your purpose, will die before they no longer run the basic apps, no worries there. They all have WiFi. Older, cheap tablets on Lazada in your price range run Android 10 at least, some upgradable to 12. Read the reviews, check vendor's rep. Chat w/ vendor about the actual RAM. Have a look at Samsung Tab A7 Lites or Xiaomi, e. g., https://www.lazada.co.th/products/tablet-xiaomi-pad6-ram12g-rom512g-101-andorid-100-tablet-10-core-i5043877527-s21326995543.html Suggestions on that page as well.
  15. Seems to have improved from before, I'd say. As an example, our bigots are no longer allowed to use their fave racial slurs. Just as argumentative as ever, though. Still full of trolls. In the old days there were far more posters, so along with the deadweight were a larger number of brighter guys as well, making for better reading and discussion.
  16. Good point. Otherwise sane members start frothing at the mouth, soiling their knickers, or diapers, and spewing invective. Appears to be a particular form of OCD.
  17. Biting people loses you a lot of credibility, I'd say. Even visiting Liverpool, I didn't meet any biters.
  18. Yeah, confidence, looks, personality, money. Just what we'd all expect, actually. Couple things not mentioned: being a good lover - most men don't realize that The Act, in her mind, is mostly (and obviously) about her, not him; and having a sense of fun and humor. Women love to laugh and be entertained. Hearing about the divorces here, I suspect many happened 'cause the lady was just bored to death.
  19. No. What I said. @radiochaser(only, surprisingly enough) got all confused and seems to want to believe the common myth about a big R&R girlie bar/prostitution scene in Pattaya during the VN war years. His original question to hijack this topic was Which he later answered for himself with the reason he knew all along:
  20. This begs the question of why you are attracted to petite females. Why not answer that question about yourself first before releasing a lot of hot air here and attracting a swarm of ANF Beauty Contest Judges from the Hive Mind? Perhaps it's because you don't feel overpowered and scared? A knife will level out any height advantage. No, it's hopeless. As I sometimes need to say here, rather than worry about others' happiness, accept your own fate with grace and equanimity.
