Who needs logs. According to this recent article OpenVPN has been exploited and if compression is used on the transmission it can be decoded. The companies mentioned below including NordVPN use compression.
According to an article by Paul Wagensell which he presented at DEF CON 26 and was published August 13th in Tom's guide many well known VPN service providers (NordVPN, PureVPN, Hotspot Shield, ExpressVPN, PIA) can be hacked. The recommendation it to use another protocol.https://www.tomsguide.com/us/vpn-voracle-attack-defcon26,news-27784.html
But you should be enforcing a https connection. Extensions like HTTPS Everywhere help ensure https encryption, I think Chrome forces this by default.

Glad to hear there's at least one.

Ok, that's a bit of a thinking-out-of-the-box solution. So no problem sending SMS to a Thai SIM in farangland then?
I still use both Kasikorn & Krungsri accounts when in the UK, no problem with receiving SMS to my AIS SIM.

Not only has the Transport Ministry denied the comments by AOT President Sirismatthakarn on the airport closures/mergers. A report yesterday, in the paper that may not be named, says the Transport Minister has told AOT to halve airport landing fees for 3 months during peak season, to attract more seasonal flights from Eastern Europe and China.
That'll teach him, eat humble face pie Mr AOT President!

I hear what you are saying for sure but on another note i did make 2 trips into Bangkok from Dubai during September and 3 in October and the plane was rammed on each occasion. So it was busier than i have seen for a while for sure.
I don't know if their numbers are correct or not. Hat Yai is busy, but it runs on a different model to most of Thailand, it's weekend visitors from Malaysia and Singapore. Probably because Malaysians and Singaporeans are also feeling the pinch they're travelling closer to home this year.
What gets me is the conflicting reports, from the Tourism Ministry it's peachy, the Finance Ministry meanwhile says things are less rosy, whilst transport officials are suggesting cuts to airports, or not. Local authorities and hotelier groups say it's hard times. You're left not knowing who to believe.
It just leaves you sceptical, particularly of TAT, who seem to have Buzz Lightyear as resident statistician - "To infinity and beyond!"

"The press reports regarding the planned closure of Hat Yai International Airport in Songkhla province and Mae Fah Luang - Chiang Rai International Airport were just misinterpretation, said AOT President Nitinai Sirismatthakarn adding that the real message was that the high-speed train project might lead to fewer clients for both airports. The AOT will draw up a flexible plan to deal with the development, he said."
Did he not get the memo? PM has cancelled the high speed rail link south, upgrade to double track only, and I'm not holding my breath that'll happen anytime soon.
As for Chiang Rai, is there actually any plan for a rail link even? Certainly it's not included in the current high speed rail plans!

It was all a terrible misunderstanding it seems!

I'll be long dead before there's a high speed rail link from Bangkok to Hat Yai. I doubt I'll live to see double track!

PTTEP have just spent B500m on a new chopper base in Songkhla.
No danger is Had Yai airport closing.
That can't happen as it's also the home of Wing 56 and 561 Fighter Squadron!

I've driven past the sign for Daddy Steakhouse a few times, there's that strange building next door with a concrete frog playing a guitar.
It puzzled me slightly as to how it survives, and if you say steaks are 700-1300 baht a pop, I'm even more surprised.

I'm not even sure if a Hat-Yai to Phuket service currently exists.
Bangkok Airways have managed to succeed where others have failed. But if Hat Yai lost its international status, I would just take a taxi to Penang, plenty of good connections from there.
It's either shoddy reporting, quite possible given the source, or just AOT sabre rattling for more funds.

There are a few, though not many, that will take PayPal as payment. I've used PayPal with online orders from InvadeIT, Wine Connection and BonCafe, and I was able to pay my Scoot flights booking yesterday via PayPal.
With Lazada, because I generally pay COD, a PayPal option probably wouldn't be of much use.

Hat yai, Ranong, Chiang Rai ,
These despised visa runners kept these cities above the water.Oh please! Visa runners are of no significance to Hat Yai.

The report is garbage, if they mean anything, they mean closing the International side, closing the domestic side of the airport just doesn't make any sense. Either AOT explained poorly or the reporter got it wrong.

There's 28 flights a day from Hat Yai to Bangkok....really!
That's the figure from Flight Radar
https://www.flightradar24.com/data/airports/hdy
Certainly there are 23 direct flights daily; Air Asia 7, Thai Lion 6, Nok Air and Thai Smile 5 each.

The report probably means to say closing the International side, not the whole airport.

WFT!
This is a nonsense. You can't shut Hat Yai airport, there are 197 flights a week from Hat Yai to Bangkok, and the same number coming back. It's a busy route and most of those passengers are Thai, not everything is about tourists.
Merging with Phuket makes zero sense, who wants to take a 6hr drive to Phuket to catch a flight? Quicker, and safer to go 3.5hr to Penang Airport, or 4hr to Krabi Airport.

De Van Cuisine (Phone: 0934452244) (7.007237, 100.475424)
Last week when we went the restaurant was all shuttered up, so were thinking the worst. So phoned ahead yesterday and found they were open again, they'd just taken a week's holiday.
Restaurant was busy, with a surprising number of farang faces amongst the Thai regulars. Food was excellent as per usual, good to see that they've now acquired a sous-vide machine, so the pork tenderloin was buttery and ultra-tender. Chef must have popped in on The Billin Bistro and taken note.
Still excellent service, despite being full, and great value for money; a three course meal for four, including alcohol, for Bht2,000.
