Gaah! Mod needs to edit that post and delete the duplicate images.
When you installed Mint you did a clean install and had Mint wipe the drive and install as the only OS?

It is being reported now in the BBC, ought to do a lot for TAT's numbers
Won't make much difference, the tourists coming to the south are primarily from Malaysia & Singapore, so same same, or possibly a little bit better!
Murky in Hat Yai today, AQI 170, can't see the sun.

No the Moon Cake Festival ran from 12-14th. But there is something else on this week, I noticed going to Central Festival on Tuesday that many streets are decked out with yellow banners with red Chinese script, when I asked I was told it was to do with one of the Chinese temples.

Will check it out tomorrow
You missed it, was last weekend!
We went on the Saturday evening, it was busier than last year, probably because it coincided with another holiday weekend in Malaysia. So lots of Malaysian families strolling around with hordes of kids getting under your feet. Mainly food stalls, lots of variety.

Another day another haze thread.
Been murky most of the day in Hat Yai, worse this afternoon.
The AQICN website indicates PM2.5 levels over 200 this evening.

No, but it affords you a better class of misery!

Anchor for me.
Most of the Thai manufactured 'butters' include a significant amount (30 to 50%) of palm oil - it tastes awful.

Thailand is what it is, and none of us are going to change her, i.e. unless the Thai's want that.

Congratulations!
Not an easy thing to do, I know, it took me three attempts before I eventually managed to quit - that was 26 years ago.

Ill let my 91 year old compulsive moaning Mother know that despite her good health with no issues at all.
OK so there are some folks who are only happy when they're moaning.

Been here 15 years, 13 years married. Happy enough, life has its ups and downs, but that's the same anywhere. Having lived and worked in numerous countries over the last 40 years I recognise Thailand as being better than most. As others have said life is very much what you make of it, if you insist on dwelling on the negatives you're probably heading for an early grave. Better to focus on the positives, you'll enjoy life more and most likely live longer too.

I was out an about in Hat Yai last night and it was heaving. Standing room only down here. I saw no more than a handful of farang, just plenty of Malaysians as it's yet another long weekend in Malaysia.

There are smaller cities and towns in Malaysia, such as Ipoh and Kuantan that are larger than Chiang Mai but with a cost of living comparable or even lower than Chiang Mai.
I like Ipoh, quite Chinese and very laid back, with plenty of options for food and nightlife.

That will be the least valid will ever made in Thailand then, because in a will benefitor and executor can never be the same
Yes they can, they can't be a witness to the will, but they can be an executor.

Personally if you are looking into buying a package I would first checkout what your neighbours are using
Exactly right, location is probably the biggest factor when making your choice of service provider.
In Hat Yai we've been happy with TOT, but I know in other areas people find TOT terrible. We have the Fiber2U 300/300 package for Bht900 per month. Internal speeds are usually above the package rate, International speeds vary Singapore I get near the full rate, to the UK & Europe depending on time of day will get 150 to 200, to North America 100-150. I connect to a VPS in the UK to watch TV and have no buffering issues.

No, but it's a good idea to give your executor as many details as possible about what assets you have otherwise he might fail to find all of your accounts after you die.
Two different things. Yes keep a inventory of assets and accounts with contact details for your executors. But the lawyer here said it was a requirement in Thailand to clearly detail all your assets, with account numbers, within the will. BritManToo's experience would suggest it's not a legal requirement, rather my lawyer insisted on it because it avoids any ambiguity.

I keep images of passport ID page, current visa, and most recent entry stamp and TM6 card on my mobile. Never needed to show them, but I've at least something to show if asked. No idea if they'd be accepted, but I'm not about to carry my passport around with me.

Interesting, no need to detail your bank accounts and assets?
