How would you feel paying more tax to keep the empire alive. whilst there are other solutions that cost you zero?
It has little to do with 'empire', you would think if the Dutch, with a GDP a third the size of the UK, can resist selling up and moving into a condo the UK might show a little more mettle.

No hermit means stay home most of the time.
That's your interpretation, however a hermit is simply a person who chooses to live a solitary life, a withdrawal from social interaction and worldly life, possibly for spiritual reasons (mental health). That could equally be living in a caravan half way up a mountain as retreating to a bedsit in Luton, personally I'd prefer the former, your situation is obviously the latter.

Doing stuff outdoors
So long as the hermit isn't an anchorite they can do stuff out doors, just solitary, not social stuff.

The Embassy is not in Trendy, its in AIA building in Sathorn which is not a condo. The sale of the previous embassy helped finance other Embassy projects instead of relying on the UK tax payers.
BTW, security/protection in a high rise such as the AIA building is better than a standalone compound, just ask the Israelis who favour such.
"The lady doth protest too much, methinks."
Of course it was a mammoth loss of prestige having to flog off the old embassy compound, you can paint it whatever colour you wish

Ironically, it was with then super power UK permission that Thailand forceably annexed the sovereign Islamic Kingdom of Patani to become part of Thailand.
So I doubt the Malay Muslims of Patani territory experienced cheer with this roadshow, especially since part of the former Kingdom of Patani is still under a State of Emergency that deprived portions of Patani citizens of any constitutional rights.
No ways he would stray that far south, no further than Krabi

The guy who published this survey is too lazy, or shows a poor knowledge of the country!
Isaan... the largest region in Thailand, is not detailed. (e.g. Nakorn Ratchasima, Ubon Ratchathani, Kon Khaen, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Buriram, other Isaan)
About one third of the voters in this survey live in Isaan. Well, 30% of the Thai population live in these 20 (out of 77) provinces.
I live in Loei, a remote place where people do not speak Isaan, but the Loei language (Laotian)…
Until 2017, I lived and worked in Chonburi, my house was in Sri Racha and my university was not far from Jomtien (Pattaya)…
Actually, given he just says 'the South', assuming that's PKK and down, that covers an area of over 2,000km2 , larger than Isaan (NE Thailand), bigger than CM/CR NW Thailand too.

Not only are the constant trucks driving around for weeks with loud speakers annoying, they're cringe and embarrassing.
It's only for the week. Here we've got convoys, with a front truck playing music followed by another with the candidate standing in the tray shouting his slogans (they're all men) followed in turn by another full of supporters and hangers on giving out leaflets.

Trump Hails 'Full and Comprehensive' Trade Deal with UK Amid Modest Economic Expectations
Seeing as the UK took 3 years for a full trade deal with India recently announced, whatever they've just knocked up with the Americans ain't going to be 'full and comprehensive' - possibly full of something

Ours is probably 25 years old, no lights, only addition are the pots the legs stand in that you keep topped up with water to keep ants out. People in the west have just gone soft.

in the household, maybe you can take your portions and refrigerate them and let them leave their portions out.
Other way round I think, the modern Western fixation with trying to live in a totally sanitised environment means westerners have lost that immunity or resilience to bacteria.

Same here, though food isn't left out on the table, ants would be at it by morning, but we have a cabinet in the kitchen, metal sides with ventilation mesh, glass doors, the legs sit in little pots you fill with water to keep the ants away. Uneaten food goes in there, used up next day. In 20 years no one's died.
It's like this one from Watsadu.

She, and other family incl. 4 year old, eat it no problem, with no side effects.
When I was at cookery college it was instilled in us not to leave anything at room temperature for more than a couple of hours. I also read that KFC (in UK) dispose of any food not sold within a certain length of time.
How does it work over here?

"Transaction fee for SWIFT payments
We charge a £15 transaction fee for SWIFT payments."https://www.nationwide.co.uk/help/payments/swift-sepa-international-payments/
Kasikorn and Krungsri both charge a flat fee of Bht500, you get the prevailing TT Rate.
