  1. Whilst I have no objection to so called same sex marriages I do object to illiberal politically correct activists acting like a troop of Stalinist gibbons crushing every viewpoint contrary to their own. It will imho do more harm than good to the cause they are supposedly so concerned about.

I totally agree on so-called same sex marriages. I don't give a crap if someone marries their boyfriend, dog, or a two headed Unicorn, it means nothing to me. But when the Gay community starts dictating to me how I must be PC on the issue is where it stops with me. Go about your business but leave me to hell alone.

  2. He really doesn't want to stop. These protests have made him a household name. He thrives on the attention.

His name has even become a new swear word.

    Really?

Is that like - "Oops, I seem to have stepped in a Suthep?"

Or are we now officially renaming the "John"?

(Jokes - have a sense of humour some of you)

An example is when you're sitting in a traffic jam, caused by his 'mob' and you say 'SUTHEP , SUTHEP'!

Don't forget to remember and thank YL for dumping 1.3 million new cars on the road of which about 80% were Bangkok registered!

  3. He said he believes that NACC won't charge Ms. Yingluck with corruption but might on neglect of the PMs duty. Mr. Chalerm added that although he is one of the witnesses who is to be questioned by the NACC, he isn't worried about it since the fact is the Prime Minister only launched the policy and assigned the appropriate minister to carry out the scheme.

He isn't worried about testifying because he wouldn't recognize the truth if he tripped over it, and even if he did, he wouldn't speak it.

So if the ship runs aground you blame the ship's cook that the captain hired? Is that about it? YL is supposedly the captain of this ship.

  4. Maybe Suthep got word 'out the back door' of NACC that YL is a goner and will be history very soon. Mission accomplished!

Yep mission accomplished and then ditatorship comes in with suthep as the all mighty ruler of Thailand.

And how do you know who will come in after Suthep has accomplished what he set out to do? I believe all that has not been yet decided unless you know more than the rest of us/me. Whom ever runs this country in the next go-round will probably have zero affect on me anyway.

Do you think that YL will ever be able to freely walk the streets of Bangkok without a large security detail protecting her? Ditto her brother.

  5. The latest in Fashion Wear

If Yingluck is in trouble and looking for sympathy on goes the brace shoe

If all is okay back to her normal shoes and all is well

Its like guessing the weather, what Yingluck footwear she will wear the next time she appears in public

Not to mention the little pity-me facial expression she puts on.

  6. and again this criminel and political clown. he hardly can wait to instal his dictatorship.the good thing is only he will fail again, a born loser he is. by the way is really funny to see some farang from the usa, gb, australia and so on supporting him. shows how "democratic" this guys are, support somebody wich like to bring a dictatorship to thailand. for all of them my wish that the reds kick them out soon from thailand.

And the reds, your democratic heros, should kick out people with other opinions in the name of Democracy....cheesy.gif

benny, my guess is that you are from a formerly eastern block country? Is that a yes?

  7. The quality of PT's legal teams seems to be piss poor. They have many people claiming to be "legal experts" who regularly make pronouncements to the media interpreting the law on Constitution in a self-serving manner that often makes no legal sense. Then they claim it is not fair when the judgements go against them. The B2.2trn Borrowing Bill and the voiding of the 2 Feb elections are cases in point. There is no way the court could have ruled otherwise in either of those cases.

The mentality is the same as the first Thaksin government when they could fix and intimidate their way out of legal corners and get just about anything passed. Sorry, the times have changed and the momentum is now against you. So you need cogent legal arguments to win cases now.

In this case, the main argument they are putting forward is that they would like the NACC to postpone the case indefinitely, whereas an impeachment case against a sitting PM is obviously a priority. They disadvantaged Yingluck and made her disrespect the NACC by telling her not to bother show up to the first hearing to obtain the evidence against her but the NACC was generous enough to give her the evidence anyway and extend the time for her to respond by 15 days.

Now she will have to face the consequences of her actions (or lack of them) and the incompetence of her "legal experts".

Impeachment is the removal from office by a legal process on the basis of impropriety or activity inconsistent with holding that office. Since parliament was dissolved quite some time ago, it would seem rather pointless trying to prove a case against someone with the goal to impeach them, when they no longer hold the office from which you are trying to impeach them.

Just curious but under what Thai law you think gives YL protection/amnesty/immunity? Just asking.

  8. I'd venture to say that if any of us was given 3 days to peruse,, and prepare to address 289 additional pages we'd be a bit miffed too I know I would... 289 pages of legalese to respond to.. but thats the plan... by the non independent agencies withhold the paper till the last minute then refuse the opportunity for redress... gimme a break... independent...? Laughable given the pedestrian way they have prosecuted things in the past... I'lll bet they are all chuckling in their noodle bowls... pathetic really

I could be wrong, but from what I read last week, this statement might be a little economical with the truth. YL may well have only had 3 days to view those documents, but that could well be down to her legal team. As part of their case for submitting the second extension request, they asked for extra time to consider the 280 +/- pages, so they must have had them at least 10 days ago. On the other hand, if YL had appeared on the day requested, I believe but may be wrong, she would have received everything there and then.

As I say, I could be wrong

If I remember correctly, if the defendant fails to attend the initial hearing then he/she has no right to the documents.

The NACC made an exception in Yingluck's case and provided the paperwork to her legal team.

If anything she has been treated more than fairly and is now doing everything she can to paint the commission black.

She is in danger of contempt

Never heard of that rule before..but you may be right... seems a bit odd as no formal indictment has been announced yet or she would have been pushed aside already..but you may know more than me... I guess the same can be said for Kuhn Suthep then for failing to appear to the office of the OAG to hear formal charges against him...? different standards...? hard to keep track here...too many unknown variables.... will try and find that rule thanks

What do you not understand the difference between YL and Mr. Suthep? YL is the Prime Minister and should be held to a higher standard.

  9. Sympathy wheelchair, sympathy 'fall' ...

Probably means she won't be able to make the NACC office on Monday - I mean, how could she, being incapacitated and all ... whistling.gif

Tell you what, I'LL push you and your bloody wheelchair there for you, OK?

PS - odd how the article mentions the exact soi she lives in ...

I am surprised she has not checked into hospital. Maybe tomorrow. Her foot hurts lots and lots.

  10. This women is filing law suits against everyone except the soldiers and their commander who did the shooting. At least go after the commander of the unit that was on the skytrain bridge that day.

Did you even read the article?

"Those soldiers, along with their commanders and other related officials, should also stand trial for the temple deaths, Ms. Payao insisted.

"I have not seen any legal prosecution against these people who were involved in the deaths of my daughter and other people inside Wat Pathum at all," Ms. Payao said, adding that she will appoint her own lawyer and file separate murder charges against the officials next week, starting with Mr. Tharit."

All these lawsuits are only about money and after that it's all BS. How many times have you seen families accepting Baht 20K for the death of a loved one at the hands of an affluent person? My old boss ran over and killed a fruit vendor, she was thirty years old and had some life left. He paid her husband 20K Baht and everyone was happy. Hell many Thais sell their children into prostitution for 10K Baht.

  11. As expected, the Democratic party is well away from a decision on this. And the reality of it is that they actually don't have to make a definite decision until the day they would need to register. The last decision was made just two days prior to the day that they needed to register. The Democratic party is being called a pragmatic party by some. Yes, indeed it is. Like all other parties. And one of the rules of politics is always to leave yourself leg room. Those who don't ( and there's a sea of them right now ) find they inadvertently box themselves in. The Democratic party doesn't want to box itself in. ( Of course, they know there are always people who will speak on their behalf, so no vacuum is created as far as they are concerned ! ) But to be honest, nobody really knows how any of this will play out. The Democratic party has been consistent that they want an election that is free and fair, and by that they mean free from the influence of a certain man in Dubai, who has the unmistakable ability to tilt the system in a way it was not designed to be tilted. Abhisit has come out for a referendum on reform, on allowing reform discussions to take place. It is a fabulous idea. And it is popular. If recent polls are any indication, it would pass. But no one really expects Pheu Thai to go that route, because they truly are set against reform. So an election now would present no change. And that is why the Democratic party is so indecisive. Public opinion right now puts both parties in the 20s. The Thai people have moved beyond partisan politics. But the public does show a convincing support for reform. Ultimately, the stalemate will be resolved by the courts, as is what is supposed to happen.

As the country does actually need governing by some faction or other, ( leaving out peoples councils etc).

Couldn't all parties contest an election with each of them confirming that within a fixed period of time a referendum relating to reforms will be carried out.

The ongoing reforms before elections is a non starter, the country needs to get back to what passes for normal as soon as possible, no matter what party is freely and fairly elected to power.

Don't be sensible. This whole issue isn't about reform. Its about squshing the shinawatras.

Same thing isn't it? Get rid of this bunch of Shin's and you automatically achieve reform.

  12. I have met this man several times and I fully agree that he is one that could pull the country together.

I doubt Mr. Anand would take the job if offered. As far as I know his health is still good but as someone's post said he is 81 years old.

  13. what an absolute moron this woman is, she keeps doing the wrong thing and expects everyone to just let her get away with it, then she says she hasnt decided if she will attend the meeting herself, obviously she knows she is too stupid to be able to answer questions herself and needs others to do it for her. This is what happens when an uneducated moron with no experience is placed in the pm's job, she gets exactly what she deserves. Maybe now she is starting to realize this isnt just like going shopping for fun and that there are consequences for what you do or dont do.

And how many multi billionaire's do you know who would not do the same. She is so stupid she ran one of Thailand largest business empires. I wish I was as stupid as her.

This is Asian business, Chinese style. She was placed there as a family figurehead just like she is PM now. Crooks can't trust other crooks so they look for a not so ambitious or smart family member they can trust (control).

"And how many multi billionaire's do you know who would not do the same. She is so stupid she ran one of Thailand largest business empires. I wish I was as stupid as her".

She has never ran anything. She had (sat in) a corner office at Thaksin's Bangkok headquarters is all. When she left and took up politics she was not replaced.

  14. Ummm yingluck, they already gave you a 30 day extension...its expired now and youre still asking for more.

just like a spoiled brat, that ask so easily to be given things on demand.

go ahead and cry when you dont get your way.

Suthep has been charged with many counts of murder and other charges of an equally serious nature, however he tells the police and whoever else wants to know that he's too busy organizing and leading protests to bring about the downfall of the democratically elected government, and the institutions say thats ok, whenever ur ready Mr Suthep. How many days have the leaders of the airport closure incidents in 2008 been given???

Suthep is not the Prime Minister of Thailand, that's the difference.

  15. "We are ready [to contest an election] if the political turmoil ends. But the impasse is still continuing,...."

Well, let me give the DP some free advice in case they decide to participate in the election, replacing the one they were fearful of:

    My advice?..."Reform yourself before it"....

    • Re-brand yourself,
    • Get a new leader who has a chance to relate to the diverse electorate,
    • Present policies not rooted in your own arrogance of "supreme political wisdom", but in the needs of that diverse electorate.
    • Commit to Electoral and Parliamentary Democracy. Quite trying to make a coup not seem to be a coup. 'Fess" up and straighten yourself out.
    • Avoid impulses to alienate yourself from majority voters not of your own station, such as bad-mouthing Thaksin and Yingluck and their huge electoral base. That may please your own minority but is "cutting off your nose to spite your face"

And what is this nonsense about political turmoil and impasse?....Trying to avoid calling a 'spade a spade' again?.........As if power plays to force one's way into power via means other than an election equates to "political turmoil and impasse"....Not sure whether to call that "illusions of grandeur".....or simply being embarrassed by one's own actions, hiding motives and trying to apply a normative political veneer to anti-democratic folderol.

What a bitter and uninformed soul you are.

  16. Thai tourism for exotic resorts with insecticide laced cocktails and asphyxiated travelers in hotel rooms, business conferences and Thai taxi machete wielding killers , elephant roundups, and temple treks are done. Thais are now down to the last and strongest element of the foreign traveler in Thailand. We all know what that is. Hats off to the Thai girls, the real backbone of the Thai tourism trade.

Correct mate, also to add quote "the last" was also the first.

Bangkok was TRULY a paradise in the early '70's, So was the Philippines

  17. True PTP democracy in action. You voted for us so if you go against us we will hunt you down and keep all out who don't support us.

Sent from my GT-S5310 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Fab 4 says that UDD red shirt gang along with Jutaporn are nothing to do with PTP or Yingluck, he said they are separate from the government. So that means the defence minister has no responsibility for their actions...

Isn't it ironic they are attached when they want back up--helping the government one minute, then when they go into crazy mode they are separate.

Obviously he is wrong, why are some PTP MP's affiliated with the UDD

Actually, some UDD members are PTP MP's - there is a difference. ginjag is wrong, I stated that Yingluck has no influence over the PTP.

No, the caretaker PM or Defence Minister, whichever hat you want her to wear, does not have influence over what the UDD does. It'll be dumb to think otherwise.

Not dumb at all, why do you think she runs around Essan and the north crying and telling the folks up there how mean she and her family are being treated in Bangkok? This is her/Thaksin's way of sending signals to the red goons and I think you know that.
