Oh no! Sorry to hear that. I like those sour fruits with some whisky / rum. Our neighbour had one of those trees. It's huge now and grows in amongst mango and lamyai trees...so I guess they need the same condition as those trees.

Wife is dead set on moving to London

I think British food was traditionally good, but later, conscience food and cost cutting, together with American style food, made it really bad...and bland! Today, thanks to fusion foods and influence from immigrants and other cultures, the UK have some wonderful food. Even the original home cooked pies and mushy peas, fish and chips etc are still delicious. The low quality foods came from the 1970 - 90''s in my opinion. Frozen meals, microwave meals, cheap gastro pub stuff and fast food. Also, people forgot how to cook....or what made a balanced diet, they were not taught by their parents and they stopped teaching it at schools. Thankfully now people are starting to appreciate good food again and are much more adventurous with what they cook. -

They don't do that. I am talking about mammals. I am glad you have empathy for prawns though. -
You should not feed ice cream to dogs, especially small dogs like yours.. it's dangerous for them. I hope that you were making a joke, or you should look up what foods are harmful to dogs.

What? Maybe you have not been back there for a long time, but these days British food and fusion food, together with the standard of food on restaurants it some of the best in the world. There is some much choice too for special diets like vegan, organic or vegetarian etc...much more then here in Thailand. -

60-70% Of Thais Have Been Infected With Covid: Expert
jak2002003 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Oh, ok. But that is all theory isn't it? How do we really know what would have happened. If they programmed that computer a different way the results would have been different. Maybe without vaccines there would have been a lot of sick / weak or immune suppressed people dying at the begining ....but after that it would not be any real problem, same as now. Who knows? They way they did it a lot of people still died, a lot still have long COVID, people still need to get vaccines and wear masks etc. AND lots of business have closed down, people lost their jobs, and some COVID medical companies / fAce mask suppliers etc have made a huge amount of money out of all this. -

???? Wait, what?! -
I think the answer is to let them in. See how they do. The ones that commit crimes get arrested and deported. Even better, Americans who commit crimes can be stripped of their American passports / nationality and deported - swapped to the countries the immigrants are coming from. That way you can get rid of the criminal American people and replace them with immigrants who will be better for society. It will also save money as you won't have to keep American criminals locked up in prison for years.

I think it works like this....unelected, disgustingly rich people, who are above the the law, who's wealth came from invading other countries, killing native people and plundering their wealth. These people socialise with royalty from Saudi Arabia who are basically evil dictators in a country that chops peoples heads off for not following their religious rules and where women's rights are basically zero. As for political parties...well the one in power now, they are corrupt, don't care about the general population unless you are a mega rich individual who gives money to them or provides some other dodgy advantage....while they sit back and happily let poorer people become poorer. Think that is about how it works. The system is not working and wrong. I do not know what the answer is to improve it, but it's definitely not King Charles! -
Snake repellent
jak2002003 replied to malthebluff's topic in Organic Farming, Smallholding and Kitchen Gardening
Swap the cat for a Mongoose????? Sorry but nothing much will deter a snake apart from a lot of human activity, which will frighten them off. They don't like disturbances. I keep pet non-venomous snakes and they don't care about lemon grass or other stuff. We had a few cobra in the garden over the years. If you leave them alone they move on quickly. I did have one rear up at the door like yours did. It actually got driven away by sparrows and other birds mobbing it and dive boning it's head. The best advice to minimise snakes being around your property is to keep grass short, have no places for them to hide or rest (no piles of junk or garden waste etc, so keep everything minimal and tidy with no low busy plants. King cobra feed on other snakes...others cobra species...so a good clean up, making sure there are no rats about to attract the other snakes, will mean there is no food to attract the king cobra. So do not have car food, or other stuff rats will eat, left out. On a side note, if you do have king cobra babies they will quickly disperse away from your place, as they do not tolerate living in the same territory. Also having a king cobra about will mean you won't have any 'normal' cobra or dangerous snakes about...they will be eaten! -
Six years of elephant attacks in Thailand kill 135 and injure 116
jak2002003 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Seems no one cares. Would be sensible to work out some elephant repellents...such as non lethal electric fencing. Also educate the local people how to act around elephants. Most people are killed when they try to frighten the elephants away by shouting, chasing them with fire, or start shooting at them, so the animals response aggressive in self defence. I saw an interesting video on how, in Africa, farmers are keeping elephants away from their crops by having bee hives around the fields.. apparently elephants are afraid of bees...of getting stung, so they stay away....plus the bees are good for pollinating the crops and provide extra income to farmers from the honey they make.. -
Why do I have to pay to see my own things?!!! Oh, I am even more for getting rid of them now. I even found out they are not British...it's some German family that changed their name because they were worried British people would not like them because of the war. So, these people who love the royal family as they are a British tradition are wrong. They are a European family ruling over us...yet many of their supporters wanted to leave Europe as they did not want unelected Europeans telling is what to do? But they like this unelected German family doing that? The world is mad.
