It's not gently nice music and chanting from temples, nor laughing playing children at the school......it's ear splitting old Thai pop music on a loop starting at 5am to midnight over several days, and Loud speakers at the schools with some crazy music and nasal squawking woman rambling on the on for hours for days at some event. Then the random explosions from extra loud fireworks. It's not normal noise or noise levels, and it's not even over after a few hours. Earplugs have zero effect against cranked up base noise.

Maybe you are right. I have toyed with the idea is renting a place in a different area for a few months to see if that helps my decision. I went back to the UK in winter 2X and spring once. I feel that I can cope with the cold in the uk better than the hot season we get in CM, especially if I can sit near a nice log burner or real fire in a cozy pub ????
