  1. Anybody remember back in 2003-2007 (I guess) there was a couple at Lumpini Park collecting cans and plastic bottles. Quite old'n'tall farang with not-so-young dark skin asian woman? Saw them very often, almost daily.
  2. Belgium is where Brussels the capitol and that "chocolate"? No wonder than )
  3. is it Uni? doesn't look like. Although ... PS: since when every word is capitalized?
  4. Reminds me that Chinese restaurant at Asoke Ding Daeng junction - run by chinese and cooked by chinese. They even served Tsingtao beer. Those old days! The best and cleanest service, nice and very polite staff. Price was also amazing. Lots of Chinese venues now at Pracha Udit junction - not a single that face )
  5. Good point. I also noticed that. They actually "burst" and unable to bear even basic critics. whatyacallit? some <deleted> rage?
  6. Very impressive! Congratulations. Now we all know that you know what I might don't know as you think that you know it. But I don't.
  7. I like the way you think ))) Very exactly same-same. Even when I spoke with other parents (thais) they seemed not care much about it. I felt like a trouble maker )))
  8. Not necessary "Thai" @bangkokbarry ) Nowadays it is much cheaper to outsource reports (say) to students who, in return use google-translate and little to nothing rewriting. Happens everywhere, I heard even big corps like BBC are using freelancers, "Livescience" too. Furthermore "proof-reading" became excessive luxury just like "what do they expect for 199 baht?!" "Journalism died together with that old guy in suspenders" About this topic: 21 year old student did something with 13 y.o. that he admitted like not a big deal, otherwise he wouldn't admit it. No words. Horrible.
  9. A daypay for a waiter at open restaurant opposite Big C at Ratchada (from 4pm till closing time) is 400 THB + tips. Not many eager to attend ) I wonder what sort of M6 kids who are going to enroll in Universities will enjoy work-experience as such: ROFL: between chemistry lessons and applied math stand in front of some <deleted> hole and greet farangs with their tilacs. You can't meke it up:
  10. Looks like a made-up story.Bunch of wannabe-rich thais bet on something (or "invest"), lost their money and play dumb. Pretending they were "hacked". Seen that <deleted> many times. And that cyber-crime division is just a bunch of kids with inflated egos and salaries (relatives FYI). Microchip in charger? Sure-sure ) Click-a-link and loose money? Sure 3 times )
  11. Oh. Norway! The happiest country of the world somehow is the country of Breivick. Right place to request an asylum.
  12. you saw that article too? It strikes how easily thais "investing" into obvious scam! I reckon Forex traders back in 97, HangSeng hedgers and numerous Ponzies. Nothing new same-same schemes. Blind greed is a bi*ch, isn't?
  13. arrest, hold for awhile, get some pocket change and depart him to Africa (or wherever he'd fancy) or more likely he scammed some thai big boss and latter wants his money back.
  14. Personal experience at Piyavate Hospital on Rama IX. Sorry I forgot Dr. name, man in his late 40-s, a bit short. Perfect English and really amazingly kind person. I can look at their roster if necessary. Exactly his specialty.
  15. "If You didn't have dengue You haven't been in Thailand" (Collin "the Fat Irishman" 2017) Little girl in our kindergarten turn into shadow (literally speaking) after dengue. Horrible. When I got it I found that tastes changed completely: drinking water tasted like sewage and "101 Pipers" was quite disgusting. Antibodies developed? Probably yes, but still I got it few times over years.
  16. Nope. Lets check timing - that happened say 12-13 years ago ) My precious wifee was crazy obsessed with all superstitions, omens, black eyes and bad curses, though. Also, to have your kid on some travel blog "Looksie, I'm in Bangkok and here is what I caught!" is not very pleasant for parent. Right?
  17. @Dave0206 oh, style, yes. One thing works to distinguish them - almost every russian (incl. kids) wear crucifix. The bigger is better. And the shape is very different from catholic's one. For some reason Russia turn from 99% atheistic country into most religious orthodox. Even in Albania and Serbia people are less into that <deleted>.
  18. leely? what makes you think I didn't?
  19. Nah, I rather read original post. On the second thought, the whole story had lost its flare and excitement so far. Just another unfortunate tourist who could not deal with midnight heat, booze and humidity.
  20. back old days during Chinese New Year Eve we were at Yowarat about early evening - means dark yet lotsa lights. My kid (about 5 than) dressed in that red chinese clothes and looked super cute. Suddenly some honky dude popped up from nowhere with huge full frame camera. He didn't even say "Hello, whatever..." just aimed his Nikon/Canon to my kid. In front of me. <something happened than> <something happened than> When we came home I felt kinda sorry for that arrogant individual and his lenses. Slight bite of guilt.
  21. been there done that. Seriously scary. Once me and my GF missed boat back to Phi Phi. Night on the beach is not that funny after all. At night the beach is full of night crawlers, thanks god there were no dogs.
  22. this is not that easy if you really like your "new home". my landlord just refused to report anything. I got contract and his blue book and ID card copies, but he demanded I don't send copies to "police". Nice guy, unfortunately paranoiac.
