Thailand Extends Visa-Free Visits for Russian Tourists
Why so much fuzz about this? There must be a reason which we don't know - so good for them and good for Thai hospitality. Every time when things get tough people tend to run. There's condo at Pinklao - somehow suddenly full of young Israelies within last week. There are Russians who can afford to relocate away - good for them, but seriously - don't care.

Pawn shops in Thailand
from cell-phones to silverware and gold chains. some shops can take TV but really cheap. Once I bought Au-Pt small ring with little diamonds. Turns up Cartier. But they didn't value that - only weight, so I got it for 2500 only. Shop is near Railway station, BKK Yes, you can pawn many things, but generally they prefer gold - depends on the shop. obviously )

What Songs Do You Rush to Switch the Sound Off?
Classic-shmassic! When I heard them at discos I was pretty sure they were some sort of freaky women screaming. And the LP I saw at friend's home was a shock: are bearded men able to sing like this? Sure they are geniuses, the whole disco era would be less vivid w/o Bee Gees, ABBA and few others. And their style and everything is flawless. No doubt. But seriously, four (or five?) brothers could pitch that high w/o snip-snip? [bad humor]

Neighbors' Complaints Lead to Discovery of Nearly 20 Trapped Cats in a House
I have no idea why our neighbor cut whiskies of my cat. Completely innocent and harmless, easy to play and never scratch anyone. Its very brutal thing to do.

What Songs Do You Rush to Switch the Sound Off?
Yes, that makes perfect sense, but in theory only. [IMHO] Interestingly it is correct [almost] either way as well: Some Mr.Nice Guy might be very average performer but his personality is just outshines it. Ted Nugent is the perfect example of great guitarist yet as the person is an a**hole. Paul McCartney is not the best musician, but he's such an entertainer! And some exeptions: Amy Winehouse, Madonna, Nick Cave, Ian Anderson (JT) Maybe something IS wrong with Collins?

What Songs Do You Rush to Switch the Sound Off?
Ted Nugent - great musician but real a**hole in person Beatles - overrated girls band Scorpions - Twisted Sisters from Octoberfest Bee Gees - man can't sing like that unless his cohones are missing (not true, just really freaky) Mahavishnu Band - too wierd to listen Van Der Graff Generator - pretended to love them because everybody around were crazy about this band %rap% - too angry, pitbull/AST kind anger

Drug trafficking ring spanning across Thailand busted by police
"a ring spanning the length of Thailand" OK. cool. there're whole villages operating trafficking. they said it helps kids to go through schools and colleges, pay bills and support their elders. no, they don't use it. only passing it from border to central provinces. just 1kg, not a biggie. right?

New Thailand Elite Visa packages from September 15th ?
Surprisingly not in LOS. Besides, Thai-Elite is the membership to premium VIP services not a "5 y.o. visa". But now it goes exactly that way.

Russian Elites Are Transforming Thailand’s Biggest Island as They Become More Unwelcome in the West
Elites? please, must be a bad joke. somebody stuck into late 90s.: russian mafia, russian corrupt gov. officials, oligarchs, Putin's cronies and other characters from B-rated movies. stereotyping and dehumanizing. back to the cold war.

Intoxicated Russian Man Damaging Multiple Cars Stopped by Phuket Police Using Tasers
Back in 90-s. Khaosarn Rd. Bangkok. Weird looking farang was offering half-opened shampoo, wipes, chewing gum (whatever he found there) for pocket change. Dressed like a village idiot, barely talking. Painted face. Absolutely harmless beggar. 30-60 y.o. Could not figure it out. Turned out he was a German businessman who was beaten by police and thrown to klong, but survived. Unfortunately his mind didn't recover and he became a Khaosarn's freak. There are many stories about police brutality in LOS, even now 2023: 10 against 1. Don't care victim's ethnicity: russian, proud european of another indian apache.

Thai wife being bullied by family
In our moo-ban (Bangkok) there's a family of retired thai gov. officer: house wife and single daughter married to farang. Quite young couple - I guess earlier 30s. Living with her parents - big house, why not? Every time I meet the old man (or his wife) I almost feel the pain [and shame] that their well-educated daughter being boinked 'n'shmoinked every night next room in their own home sweet home. PS: Yes, the clever chap is a teacher, who else? However parents are trying to safe face and act decently. Probably somewhere in the jungles and rice farms parents are less "sophisticated" and more straightforward.

Russian Women Arrested in Phuket for Allegedly Providing Salon and Nail Services
for some [unknown] reason there are "concerned foreigners" who post and snitch to police. Why do they do it? I'd heard stories about such <deleted> since last century: german guy deported for installing Windows 95 dutchman painted fence polish helped to test motherboards and memory planks russian went to IDC for helping owner of the bar to set the playlist of youtube videos french spent a week in jail for participating in EvilAngel production in Pattaya What a threat to Thai Economy!

Neurologist for brain MRI?
Before you slide into the scanner you need a chap who could read pictures. I had a friend who did a brain scan at Bangkok Hospital (yes, MRI), paid about 23K (back in 2017). Money wasted. Went to Bumrungrad. Yeah, fancy-shmensie lounge to Middle-Easterners. Doc could even recognize areas of the brain on the pictures. Surely got his "diploma" either in Aussie land or in Eang-landg. Wiki-gurus. Get the doctor first, and not from fancy lounge. Chula, Siriraj - like.

Age requirement for spouse follower retirement visa.
Wow! So retiree can apply for "follower visa" for his spouse and kids too? Even if kid is about 20 y.o.? Once I asked IO at CW she mumbled something "mei-day" but didn't look certain.
