"suicided" ...
What is this trying to tell us ...? -
Wouldn't have ever expected this stunning outcome ...

I recommend this one: http://www.ebay.com/bhp/garmin-edge-800, and you can get it for less than 5'000 THB.
The big advantage against the cheap products is that you can load brilliant maps incl. POIs (Points of interest - very useful on tours through unknown regions), and it leads you exacty where you planned to go. I also like the easy connection with the Garmin Connect platform for recording your tours (similar to Strava).
Edge 810/820 offer some additional features I don't use (e.g. online-connection with friends), so for me the 800 is absolutely perfect.
But be forewarned: Using all offered features and various settings "blindfolded" needs some weeks; all depends on your preferences ... -

Article doesnt clarify much (again)..
Do they mean registering with the police, as a control system. Or registering them in the vehicle database, and green book, as a modified bike having 3 wheels.
Registering as not carrying bombs ...

Great idea!
I'm sure this registration will protect us from any further bombs on motorcycles with side cars. -

Go to the lower hill tribe villages around Chiang Mai. Avocado season is just now, and they have more fruit than they can sell, so they feed it to the pigs. Finest dark green quality.
We just came back from a Karen village about 80 km west of Chiang Mai with 50 kg for THB 1'000 (= 20 THB/kg), sharing it now with friends and enjoying guacamole and other avocado dishes (soup/salad) around the clock.
Take different ripening stages and store them in the fridge, so you will be well supplied for more than two weeks. -
Gave interest-free loans up to THB 100'000 and up to half a year several times, and got ALL back on time or earlier without any difficulties to Thai people from our neighbour villages (many of them members of our local cyclists group), most of them farmer families who needed new seeds after e.g. ripped off/stalled by rice millers/government or customers, or in need of urgent machine repairs to avoid loan sharks. All of them people well known for managing their family income well under "normal circumstances".
Made "contracts" by western handshake, both parties agreed clearly when to pay back the latest, and we gave the money in cash, during a dinner at our place. Always other Thai friends, knowing both parties, joined. My wife always handed out the money to the women, never to the men.
Of course this sometimes caused other people to ask for a loan, too, but it was never a problem to politely reject their attempt in case we were not 100% sure of their credibility.
Most of the loans we offered by us because we learned about a dilemma, and were not asked for.
I can't imagine to give out a loan under other circumstances than described.

There is a section south of Kamala with 25.4% (also according to Google Earth. Don't know how exact it is. 25.4% seems really very steep to me for an official road around the island ... )

Does someone know how steep it is in percent?
17,7% at the steepest section according to GoogleEarth. Most of the hill between 9 and 13%.

What is a "driver's license plate"? Do I have to put it at the front window everytime I drive?

concerned PM could push back 2018 vote
Of course he will, no doubt.
The only question is what "reason" he'll chose to declare. -
"A Bt1 coin, for example, costs Bt1.80 to mint"
Seemingly THERE is room for improvement. -

"... including a red-whiskered bulbul."
I know at least 3 people in our little village who keep several red-whiskered bulbuls in cages each. One of them is the village head. And I'm sure they don't have a permission, most probably don't even know that they should have one.
However - I appreciate every action tackling wildlife trade and smuggling. -
