  1. Back in 1963, two 500 pound WWII American bombs were found in the sand box of a play ground by a 5 year old. They didn't evacuate any where near that many people, perhaps a couple of hundred at most. But the MP's did block the route walked to high school. My dad told the family a few days later that EOD removed the bombs from the sand box, transported them to a bomb range, set them up to be detonated remotely from a bunker several hundred yards away from the bombs, and the bombs exploded just as the EOD crew reached the door to the bunker. The 5 year old boy asked his mom for a big spoon. Why do you want a big spoon mom asked? To dig up the pipes in the sand box. OK, here is a big spoon son. A few minutes later mom goes downstairs after wondering what pipes were in the sand box, saw a big black thing in the sand box, called the Military Police (MP), they called EOD.
  2. comcast is slower, I am sure! Comcast is an internet service provider in the U.S. of A.. It has the slowest loading website on the internet I am willing to bet a $1.00 on that. I no longer am with comcast but when I was, I would log onto their website to pay my bill and it took 10 minutes to do it sometimes (yes, I did time it). Every other website that I log into, to pay my bills, are much faster.
  3. Yeah, I remember what it was like when I was in Vietnam and we were getting upwards of 300 rounds of rockets and mortars (happened one time) a night, but mostly 20 - 50 a night. Some of us laughed about it, but we were not happy!
  4. P365 with a 12 round magazine and a 17 round magazine backup. Daily. Even in the house. This because I experienced a guy breaking into my house out in California who wanted to kill me back in 1989. I didn't know that at the time. He was a drug addict that I knew casually. I still don't know what his beef was! I was getting ready to go to a shooting range and put my holstered .45 1911 on my belt just before the break in. He was able to break into the house in 4 seconds!!! He stopped when he saw me, I pulled the pistol and pointed it at him and he left. Also in the bedroom I keep an "AR pistol" (that's what it was called when I bought it), that has a 7.5 inch barrel, a loaded 30 round magazine, and a suppressor on the end of the barrel (still pretty loud). After buying it and shooting at the range, I found out that when 69 gr .225/5.56mm rounds are shot out of it, they start keyholing at about 15 - 20 feet (the distance to the bottom of my stairs). But they are accurate enough, even if they rounds are yawing, tumbling, keyholing, however you want to describe it, to hit a dinner plate out to 25 yards at about 2000 fps muzzle velocity. Also, on occasion, I carry a Browning BDA .380 with a 13 round magazine.
  5. Like the article says, once they have the IMEI number they can track the phone or, using radio direction finding (RDF), pick it out of others. I worked with law enforcement agencies that needed to locate cell phones using RDF. If I was within 1/2 mile of a cell phone, I could drive right up to it's location using RDF. If it was moving then I could follow it. Using the cell tower signal strength readings, they can get an approximate location. Using time difference on arrival (TDOA), they can geolocate a cell phone.
  6. Can't forget what I never knew. i.e. , torture site at RTAF Base Udon. Or Don Muang. I know the CIA worked out of RTAFB Udon during the Vietnam war, the 7th RRFS Co. B. shared a building with them. I worked there for a few weeks.
  7. I posted too soon. Afterwards I heard that another iranian ship was sunk by a U.S. submarine, by torpedo. The first war ship (making 12 ships of war) sunk by torpedo, from an American submarine, since WWII.
  8. Eleven iranian ships turned into submarines. This is awesome!
  9. Here's a guy that wants a more white America. https://rumble.com/v74ywbk-black-influencer-makes-argument-to-make-america-white-again.html?e9s=src_v1_upp_a
  10. Yes. As is "far right" and similar words.
  11. "21 hours ago, JonnyF said: Lefty is a description. 12. My last 8 years of gainful employment I had a lot of overtime. But rather than get paid for it, I took it as compensation time, which was actually, extra, paid, time off from work. Saved me from taking vacation time.
  13. Well, that answers my question.
  14. Are you working voice or morse?
  15. It would be nice to have a good peach cobbler when visiting Thailand.
  16. Current ICE training at FLTC is 6 days a week for a period of 8 weeks. Cut to that when the Spanish language part of training was dropped. Which sounds about the time my training at FLTC was, as my agency did not require the Spanish Language course either.
  17. If the Spanish person goes to the Philippines, they might run into someone that they can have a conversation in Spanish with. I have met a few Philippines that could speak it.
  18. When I was taking a Thai language course at Chulalakorn, I met a young lady there. During my conversation with her I thought she was from the U.S. of A.. Not only was she fluent in English but she had an accent from Arkansas, U.S. of A. She had never been outside of Thailand. Her English language instructor at Chula was from Arkansas, hence, her southern accent.
  19. I have. I would wake up in my VW van, some mornings with tiny, frost, icicles hanging on the metal ceiling of my VW van.
  20. I used to be in the Army Security Agency. They were considered to be "spooks". We had NSA personnel embedded in our units. I broke free from facebook over 2 years ago. Now I get an email once a month asking me to click a link so that I can get back into facebook. Yes, it is a legitimate email from facebook and not a phishing scam.
  21. Yeah, I could imagine President Trump having $200.00 bills printed up, with his mug on it, just for that very reason!
  22. Nah, it isn't that. If I shared her picture, then everyone would know that she married one of the ugliest men on the planet and the older I get, the uglier I get. I do not wish to embarrass her like that! Here is a picture of me when I was younger and looked better than I do now!
  23. Yeah, that might work. 9mm FMJ being a puny little boolit. I might try it later (not really) after I pick up a Ruger SP101 .357 from the local gun store that is being held for me.
  24. As to shooting someone ... I read a story years ago (before the www) of two old men in a New York apartment building that hated each other. One day they got into an argument in the hallway of the building and each one of them started shooting at the other with revolvers, from a distance of 6 feet! They both emptied their 6 shot revolvers and reloaded two more times, emptying their revolvers after each reload. Neither one manage to shoot the other, from 6 feet away after shooting 18 rounds each!!!
