Travel Thailand Tightens Airport Rules on Liquids and Gels to Boost Safety
radiochaser replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I'm late in responding to this, but I just read your post. A couple of years ago I had an analgesic gel for knee and back pain, confiscated in Suvarnabhumi airport, because it was over 100 ml. It was in my carryon bag instead of my checked baggage, which is how I took it to Thailand. I forget if I was traveling in country or leaving Thailand. -
True, but when you take them to court, you have to have all the facts and ducks in the proper order. Sometimes it isn't that easy to get it done. I had one case that where it was evident that there were violations of law. But it was almost a year before I had all the, factual evidence, gathered so it could be put before a federal judge. It was a small piece by piece collection, then put together showing the time line and actions, until it could be shown how the guy was committing the crime. Judge sentenced him to a year. That was a complicated case. A couple of times I got feedback from the judges telling me without evidence I gathered, they would have let the person go.

Wise transfer lost
radiochaser replied to bondjames007's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I did not get far enough to choose a bank to send to. WISE would not accept either my U.S. bank debit card or my U.S. credit card. -
Wise transfer lost
radiochaser replied to bondjames007's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I registered an account with WISE yesterday. I tried a test send of $50.00 USD, using both a debit card and a credit card. Each time I got an error message of, card not acceptable (or something like that). I don't know if that has anything to do with the delay in receipt problem that has been posted about. -
If you plug that in, in Thailand, the same thing will happen to it that happened to mine. I wasn't thinking, plugged a U.S. of A. surge protector into a receptacle, there was a loud pop and sparks shot out of the holes. The best thing about that was the "surge" of adrenaline it caused!

No. That won't work. You didn't wet the earth. It has to be wet to work!

I will be damned if I give you 50! I used to be an assistant drill instructor in the reserves for two years. 😁 Unless you are a lady with a good looking butt, I don't want to see it. Got enough of that in basic, 11 months advanced training, 20 months in VN, and 7 months in Thailand. Oh, the horror, the horror! 😖 What is P&T? Is that related to jumping out of aircraft?

Have you ever noticed this on the Sky Train?

I have seen them do that when a Thai enters the shop. -
You will have to pardon me. I have only had five jumps. I think that was the minimum required to stay in the 36th Airborne Brigade of the Texas National Guard back in 1979. My expertise, from active duty, was limited to radio morse code nets, high frequency direction finding of emitters, using short, medium, and long range radio direction finding equipment, radio teletype communications, setting up associated equipment for fixed use, setting up and running radio communication nets, and operating a RATT rig in a jeep when with the 36th. I was also with several other Army Reserve units and the California National Guard, working in the signal platoons of each unit. Other than the 36th, my closest contacts with airborne qualified personnel were the personnel with 403rd RR SOD in Vietnam and my Detachment Commander who was with the 403rd working with MAC-SOG then was pulled out of Laos to replace the previous Det Commander who was deemed incompetent. The 36th may have taught us about cutting away the main, but I all I remember was get the reserve out as soon as possible. I did talk to a Special Forces Master Sargent one time on a flight. He answered all the questions I had about HALO and HAHO (high altitude high opening?). He was a nice guy to talk too. If my information is incorrect, by all means correct it. I know nothing about green feet on buttocks. I do remember that I told a jump master I wanted to be last man out and he had permission to kick my ass out of the the C141. Does that count? I think that Air Force Sargent really enjoyed that. It was my last jump before I moved to California at the urging of my sister who lived there, which in retrospect was a bad decision. But that is a personal problem I guess.

BCBS, if I recall correctly, told me to go to Bumrungrad International, or I found it on the website. That was last year. I can't remember (damn this old age). I might have just called Bumrungrad and them and asked if they accepted BCBS. This year, in March, my knee had a problem and I went there without looking for any other hospital. The nice thing was they saw me faster than I would have been seen here in the U.S. of A., for a walk in patient. Doc wanted to schedule me for an MRI, but the earliest appointment was after I would have returned to the U.S. of A. MRI showed I have a torn meniscus of my left knee. As to the list of providers, is that from BCBS Federal Employees Health insurance? I don't recall seeing any listing for Nonthaburi area, where my condo is. If you have any links I would appreciate it. As for Bumrungrad Hospital, there are two of them. One is in Nonthaburi district and is a government hospital. When I asked the driver of the firs taxi if he knew where Bumrungrad hospital was, he said he did. When I was dropped of there a nurse confirmed that it was name that. The next taxi driver that came through there and was asked if he knew where Bumrungrad in Bangkok was, responded in English, yes, Bumrungrad International Hospital, I know.

I don't think you would have seen moves in that video. The jumpers look to be pretty high up, much higher than the three jumps I made from helicopters, which was at 1200 feet (366 meters) above ground. The jumps I made from a C141 and a C130 were, I think, over 2000 feet, possibly 2500. As someone else posted, you don't mess around with the main chute if it does not deploy because you don't have time to. You immediately go to opening the reserve, grab it, and throw it away from you.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal Employees Plan. I kept it when I retired as it covers my wife who is not yet on medicare. There in in network doctors and hospitals in almost every country. I have a co-pay that is lower than out of network doctors and hospitals. I can also use out of network doctors, pay the costs and submit receipts to BCBS and they reimburse at 40%.

Bumrungrad International Hospital? If it is this hospital, why not? I have started to go there because it is one of the few that will accept my American health insurance. Is the reason due to cost of care?
