  2. Has anyone seen one yet in the showrooms, I am a long way away from a dealer, but was told at Udon Thani that they are out October/November?

Went in there today Allan and they had 3 in the showroom, red, white and black. Nice little bike ,not for big type farangs as to small..The extra for the 300 in my opinion is well worth it..

Oh bugga, I thought it was the same size...

The Udon guys said I could could get it with a Khon Kaen book ...

Interesting, how the TNT25 compares with the Honda CB300f

    Seat height 780mm 780mm

    Wheelbase 1385mm 1380mm

    Weight 150kg 158kg

    BHP 24.1hp 29.2hp

    cc 249cc 286cc

    Baht 94.9k Baht 130k Baht

    So size-wise about the same and with the same tyres/rims. @ 110f / 140r / 17"rims

After a 400km trip around Isaan over the weekend on my NV400 chasing twisties and finding very few, I have decided to buy a lightweight bike I can carry on my 4 door pickup. These tedious trips up and down main roads are not me me, even with 40+hp, I just can't be asked.

150kg is doable, the NV400 @ 230kg isn't. Go somewhere nice, off-load the bike and ride.

    Lazy pommy bastard......beatdeadhorse.gif

    i thought you were getting a CRF250M???

  3. Time to change the chain and sprockets. By the time I get the change done, I will have done 28,000 km which is pretty good. A couple of links are looking kinked, it is stretched just to the red marker, the pull test at the rear point of the back sprocket has around a quarter of an inch of play and it is making the death clicking symptomatic of sticking links. Cleaning and lubing can only get you so far.

Honda quoted replacement cost : 5700 Baht. ermm.gif

i think 28,000 km for the chain / sprockets on a 500cc bike is pretty darn good....

Changed mine at 26,000 km. Cost of check up and chain/sprockets was 7,400 baht.

    good old Thailand i say......

  5. Ok we fitted the Pirelli MT60 RS Corsa tyres today. Was pretty hard to get them on and had to go down the local tyre store to pop the bead into place as we only had a hand pump at home. Go out to test them tomorrow.

    Front is 120/70 R17 58V TL

    Rear is 160/60 R17 69V TL

  6. Nice slip on properperson thumbsup.gif

Just wondering, does that pipe come with a center stand stop?

I am guessing that you don't have side luggage, as it looks like the pipe at that angle, would probably be be blowing directly on to it.

Agree with OP about looking good,

    hi Thai Chi

    no it doesn't....

i took it to a local Thai engineer (Hua Hin)who welded a small piece of stainless steel onto the pipe to form the new bump stop...

top quality job - looks like it was done at the factoryand matches the pipe - he charged me 300B ...

you do need this done, otherwise the centre stand flaps around and hits the chain (as i found out as i left the exhaust fitters...lol....

  7. For me I would strongly consider the CB300f. It will do 160km/hr on the highway if you really want to. I don't think the 500f is much of an upgrade because it is such a de-tuned twin (low reving and set up for max fuel economy). A new 300f with a few minor accessories will cost you less than a good/clean used 500f and you will have a very similar bike for most real world situations. Also you can get service done at your local Honda shop and wont need to go to a big wing. If you could scratch the money together to get a CB650f, different story.

that is what I was looking at at first, I don't know much about the engines and all that.. someone was talking to me about single and twin, etc. but I'd have to look into that myself I guess.

I would only use my bike for semi long trips, not for going to the market or 7eleven. we're talking going from Cha-am to Mueang Phetchaburi which is ±55 kms 2-3 times a week. and otherwise, anywhere in Thailand

most likely my girlfriend would accompany me on 90% of those non Mueang Phetchaburi trips.

I did long trips like that last year headed to Mae Hong Son (Pai) on my Honda Wave and. it was slow obviously, I felt like I was totally nailing the Wave even if averaging 80 km/h most of the trip but not really any passing power if needed, tough on steep hills, even if I'm lightweight myself had to go in first gear on some of those. the seat was mostly the problem.. if you get my drift haha.

top speeds i couldn't care less, i might push it to try but I would be surprised if I went over 120 at all unless passing

just me and my girlfriend is 115kg (68 + 47) and then a pack or two I figured that maybe the a clean used 500F might be a better choice?

they are building up at Big Wing in Hua Hin which should be completed rather soonish (prob a month or two) so the maintenance thing would hopefully not be an issue. but once on a trip it might become one

    I am split!

    Have sent you a PM.....

  10. I found the 500X uncomfortable and went for the F. Had to sell it though as there are too many retards on the roads up here. Good bike though and it's telepathic around corners.

I am 191cm and read the same before too about the 500X

still debating if getting a 500F is a better idea than going at an older 650 like the ER6Ns which look a LOT like CBFs or if they are mechanically radically different. (for better or worse)

Whatever bike you go for - because of the state of the roads - you need "dirt bike DNA" - ignore this at your peril...

The Honda 250M had been suggested, so has the 500X - if you have deeper pockets there is the Ducati Scrambler.

Give whatever you fancy a good ride round some of the pot holed / bumpy side roads before making a decission...
