Duke 390 certainly gives the Honda 500F something to think about:
-
Nope, never had any need for hand guards on the street.
Yep, it's too damn hot for wearing proper protection and over the long haul for touring (speaking from experience) but locally running back and forth into town there are some major advantages over using a car. Finding a parking spot for one! Had mine for about 2 years and have about 16km on the clock in comparison I've put nearly ten times that on my bike in Europe during the same period of time.
And that was without the fancy hand guards!
everyones different.....take this guy....stripped his 390 down considerably and painted the wheels black:

Very nice, congrats.
Do you plan to do anything to it, after-market exhaust etc?
Local Thai engineer modifies original pipe to make it a tad louder with a throaty sound - without attracting the Police's attention and looks like it hasn't been faffed with...many of my pals going down this route - and a snip at 1,500 B
Got Rad guard, hand guards and larger screen...
on the list are the orange crash bars that go nicely with the orange trellacing...
Off to K Speed in a couple of days - a fair bit of stuff there to tempt you....
Hand guards seem like something more for MX.
Will you be using it off road?
I'm beginning to wonder if you ride at all in thailand, what with the "to hot" and this, and sorry no, using a scooter to go to the sev is not "riding in thailand" imo
yeh - some people could cause an arguement in an empty room.....

I have bought a new bike, so my beloved 500X has to go...
Its a 2014 model (reg'd dec 2013) with 11,500 KM on the clock - All services carried out by Honda Bigwing, using Synthetic oil, including the 12,000km service that was done last week...
Comes with full service history and green book, ready for easy transfer to the new owner...
The bike is in "out of the box" condition and has been carefully riden, valeted weekly and always covered when not in use - Has to be one of the best looking 500X's in Thailand.
Bike comes with the following mods / accessories:
39 tooth sprocket fitted by Bigwing (totally transforms the bike).
OEM rear carrier / Givi top box (with brake light)
OEM hand guards
Rad guardLED front headlight
Wheels / bellypan colour coded
Front/rear foot rest hangers colour coded to match the rear carrier
2015 model sticker kit fitted
Memory foam seat, with red stitching
IXIL twin pipe exhaust (looks great and never had a problem with the Police over noise).
Rear Hugger
Centre stand
2016 model screen
GPS bar
12v / 5v socket
Handle Bar brace / pad
Front fork brace
Tank pad.New replacement cost would be aproaching 300,000 Baht..
Will accept 165,000 Baht..(based in Hua Hin)

You'd imagine it could eat a Ninja 300.
73 more cc, Xx less KG.
But watching youtube shootouts that single cylinder can't out-top that high revving twin for top speed, acceleration up to about 160kph has it just ahead by a few km.
yeh but it looks shed loads better and would out handle it any day....

I was considering buying the 390 Duke.
Unfortunately the amount of complaints regarding overheating in traffic, low speeds, knocked the idea on the head.
Not ideal for the Thai climate, was my conclusion.
Looks like the 2016 models have a revised rad / fan set up - Slipper clutch too:
-
With ABS as standard, WP USD forks, WP rear shock, Brembo brakes, gear indicator, Pirelli Rosso Corsa tyres as standard, ultra light (30kg lighter than a Ninja 300 and a whopping 55 kg's lighter than a Honda 500X), very quick for it's size (0-100km/h in 5 sec) corners like it's on rails and looks sharper than a John Bonham drum solo - The Duke 390 at 199,000, is a shure fire "game changer" in my book:

A follow up for those interested in the Benelli 300 TNT. 3 months later and 2000km, well almost.
Problems with the bike so far: One small screw on the nose cone worked its way loose at 600 km, 30 seconds to fix that. 1st service at 999km was ok but upon returning home some 60kms oil light was flashing on tickover ... phoned the shop and they came and picked it up, without bike for a few days. Changed the sensor, the oil, and another new oil filter. The consensus was dodgy oil filter but they did the other stuff to be safe. They then returned the bike to my house ...very happy with that kind of service and zero charge. 2000kms later and all good.
Things I dont like about the bike: The IRC tyres are dog excrement. 2000 clicks and they are hardly worn, I just reckon the compound is too hard. Have tried upping and lowering the pressures from recommended either way about 4 psi with no real difference. They just do not inspire confidence to go bailing into a corner and yep they do give way. Had a great one Saturday bailing past a car in 3rd gear pulling 10000 rpm, tilt over slightly and wheel spinning ...ok on a GSXR1100 but come on not on a 38bhp 300 (I'd already travelled 70kms nonstop so one would assume they're warmed up eh). Oh the seat is a bit fiddly to get back on, no biggy mind. And one last thing, had to adjust clutch cable 3 times (yes I've oiled it too) so appears to be not the best quality ... I reckon it will need changed sooner than later at this rate, who knows?
Things I like about the bike: Never failed to start first button push, handles well (except for the tyre probs) and straight line rides the bumps perfectly. For a 300 accelerates rather well, gear changes at 7k to 9k are marvellous. The possibility to mess around with the suspension set up ... single fork damper with a wide range and a fully adjustable rear monoshock ...think I'got it just about right now to my personal settings. Brakes are marvellous and more than enough for this size of bike. Finally, I like the look of it, its comfortable to do distance on, and sounds sweet for a standard exhaust.
On the note of 'false neutrals' never had a single one. As Garyzx6r pointed out, it has to be set up correctly for each rider. I had mine adjusted when I picked it up but have also readjusted to suit my big feet and feels even better again.
... as you can see, on the lever you have a cam so can have this up, down, to the front, to the back ...my size 11 feet like it to the front and shifts on the base on my big toe as I like it. Also moved the gear spline part one notch anti-clockwise from factory setting and adjusted the rose bar 2 turns on the thread to make it longer. What it creates is a lower positioned gear lever along with a longer distance from peg to lever. Love that you can do this also as many rearset new bikes don't have these options of adjustability.
So lovin it as they say but those tyres will be gone before worn out. Gary zx6r recommends the Duro Taurus rosso copies at 2700 baht a pair. Yep the pirellis would be the ones but at 10k a pair ! I will give the recommendation a go first.
Sorry if I've bored anyone but it may be of help to know the crack if you want one or thinking about it. Happy biking all love Khru Gin with too much time on his hands today.

If an STD was the cause, given your lack of immediate symptoms it was most likely chlamydia -- which the oflaxacin you were prescribed would have treated (the doctor was presumptively treating you for possible chlamydia), but unfortunately it sounds like you may have not completed the full course of treatment prescribed
Chlamydia would also be a likely culprit if in fact you had epididymitis, and the same treatment would have been indicated.
It is very unlikely this has causes testicular atrophy, if in fact you have this. STDs are a risk factor for atrophy over time but will not rapidly cause what you describe.
You should go either to a urologist for further evaluation and tell them about the interrupted course of prior treatment. If you are in Bangkok, Dr. Viroj Chodchoy is very good.
Have sent you a pm....

just a few hundred metres past hua hin fishing lodge, on the left. they had an opening party on saturday. i could hear it from our house. i had a little drive past in the afternoon and it is a good size and looks impressive from the outside. saw some elephants, bears, horses just when driving round the perimeter. i think it will do well
If only we knew where the fishing lodge was.....

I want to ride the bike up to cm ...
Can't see the point - surely cheaper and easier to buy in CM.....
Its not like its some rare bike, only available in Phuket....
it's about the journey, not the destination...
thanks for the other tips tho.
one word springs to mind - "nightmare" .....
-
the reality is that the PCX and the N Max are cheap, efficient little scooters - which ever you buy, i'm sure you'll be pleased....
But making up tales that as a new N Max owner, you've seen a PCX owner skid, is absolute tosh in my book....
i've had a PCX since they came out - currently on my 4th..if someone took it away and gave me an N Max, i'm sure i'd be happy with it, but please stop keep harping on that the N max is infinately superior to the PCX, when it obviously isnt.....
