Well reviews are reviews, one tester prefer that bike and another tester another bike, I don't put too much into it but prefer forums where you can get input from owners over a long time period.

Why worry so much about it? I certainly don't, ohh I forgot, you own a KTM, right?

Well we are off topic now, which was the new BMW.

    no MT09 ....

Being useful as commuter/touring bike just to mention a few, the testers on the mentioned site thought that the R3 will do a better job of that.

So you can go bake a cake and think about that;)

Well funny old world - Visordown Motorcycle News, one of the most respected bike reviewers out there - said the Duke 390 was one of the best comuters out there ! and was the quickest sub 400cc bike available - with the pull like a 2 stroke from the 1980's ....

And compated to the MT03 it won in almost every area - Test here:

    Made in India, eh.

Well the KTM 390 Duke got almost 10hp more so it will fly past the BMW.

However I read in a Danish bike magazine that the naked KTM is all about fun and not much else and they preferred the Yamaha R3 overall (They tested 3 bikes: Kawa Z300, 390Duke & R3).

Will be interesting to see how the 310BMW stacks up against above 3 bikes and also important: Price.

Well what else is it meant to be about ? Cake baking ???

Paul, u don't need to send money. just go a few days in a hotel and look around. plenty of condo you can visit in a day. I would rent a scooter.

What about the fact that rental scooters have almost no insurance - or doesn't that matter ??

    Rental bike insurance cover:

Damage to the actual rental bike - cover -  Nil

Damage to Third party cars / motor bikes - Cover -  Nil

Damage to Third party property - Cover - Nil

Injury to third parties - Cover - maximum of 30,000 b  (circa 6,000 quid if you are a Brit)....

So you're on your rental scooter and you pull out of a side soi not seeing the approaching Mercedes, who clips you, then looses control and hits an electrical post... .

Car badly damaged and written off, both driver and passanger injured...Vehicle write off value vehicle say 2.5m Baht....Injury claim from Driver and his hi-so missus - 10M Baht.

Electrical pole needs to replaced and wired back in - circa 250,000 Baht.

Damage to the actual rental bike - say 10,000 Baht

Maximum cover under the rental bike policy is 30,000 Baht

They've got your passport number and will block you leaving for home until every one is paid...

Your in the s  hite ...

Now you know the facts - You decide ....

....and 5 speed. Also disc brakes front and rear plus twin spark single cyl.. Looks quite small the same as MSX's but quite a looker and will sure pick up some of Hondas trade ....looks as if price is also about 9 or 10k less than a MSX. I was in my local Benelli dealer Saturday, not there yet but I did hear 'late 2016' ... so soon?

    next month....

If you don't mind the lack of a boot space, the Mirage is one of the better Small car. It drives really well in a city..but a bit too light for highway. The 1200 cc, 3 Cyl Engine is good enough for the city and some highway if you're patient enough.. Mitsubishi tend to be great with their option. If your missy will be driving from time to time, I recommend the Anti-Collision option.. That will save your bumper repair cost..

If you need a boot space, the Mitsubishi Attrage is pretty good.. Pretty cheap and has loads of options as well.. Same engine as the Mirage so do except slower acceleration. Big space in the rear and the boot. Though not as much leg room as the Almera of course.

I am not a fan of CVT gearbox.. but the CVT would be a better option for better fuel economy and Bangkok Traffic. The CVT should not have a problem handling 4 passenger and carry on. Though I had the Manual Attrage.. It was just more fun to drive.

Not according to "Top Gear Magazine" who gave The Mirage a 3/10 and went on to say:

" Thinking about buying a Mirage? Don't. Now you can't say we haven't warned you. Especially awful - Expensive, slow, horrid to drive. A mass of metal without sense or relish or ability or anything, really"

  7. more facebook:

Very disturbing turn of events here in Hua Hin. We were out seeing a couple of bands down on Soi Bintabaht when 2 bombs were detonated very close to where we were. The first one did some slight damage but the second blast blew a lot of glass out onto people and there were about 15 serious injuries. The police and the army are clearing everyone out of the area now.

  8. from facebook:

My girlfriend went to Blue Monkey and arrived seconds after the 1st or 2nd bomb. One of our friends had her lag almost blown off. In hospital now. Bomb apparently hidden in pot plants. Som Tum lady outside Blue Monkey apparently died from her injuries unfortunately. Heard 4 casualties already and Hua Hin hospital is full of injured.

    ....

I rang the owner of blue monkey straight away, she said blood was every where and lots injured

Remember when there was nothing between the Ninja 250 and the Er-6n.

Or between the CBR150 and errrrr, nothing.

Talk about a change in market.:D

The Duke 373 looks good for the city, but a lack of dealers etc for services, lack of after market parts easily available etc. would put me off.

A much as I don't like the CB286, it does have the bonus of having dealerships on every corner and parts on every website.

For the city, I think I'd go with the Yammy 03. seems to be a decent balance between the two.

it would be ok round town - but comes into it's own round the back road twisties, where it would give a bike twice it's size a good run for it's money....its sense of urgency is gob smacking...

Dealers - luck of the draw - 150km for me to bkk, but worth it cos the equivilant Honda / kawa is "same old same old"...

After market accesories - K Speed does a fair few, but KTM dealer has a "power parts"catalogue with huge amount of stuff....
