  1. C'mon man You know the thing! This is the real Thailand many tourists (and locals) enjoy.
  2. Hey, is this an April 1 fools joke for November 1. These clowns can't get the IM online 90 day reporting system working effectively after 3 years. And they are going to roll out a Thailand Pass solution on November 1. Pull this one it squeaks 5555 But nice Thai graphics presentation (as usual) on Travel Journey on Thailand Pass. https://loyaltylobby.com/2021/10/14/thailand-will-replace-coe-system-with-thailand-pass-application-for-international-air-travelers-from-november-1-2021/
  3. Thailand currently 261 active golf courses; low on the totem pole!
  4. Yes, a common problem is that with (some) Visa renewals the new stay date is not not updated in the Oracle IMM 90 day online reporting database. It's an absolutely useless system design; whoever designed it needs to be fired. I have given up on emailing immigration Div 1 with all the details each 3 months of the problem and a complete IT analysis of the issue. Get a nice email reply " we will pass it on to the appropriate people" but nothing ever gets fixed. I am currently 167 days overstay on the 90 day online system but my visa is valid until April 2022. My best guess is the Enterprise Application Integration middleware framework between the legacy IMM database and online 90 day reporting enterprise Oracle database is broken (or flaky) and they don't know how to fix it. I have done some network analysis traces and script analysis on it and I can see the issue clearly that my entry (visa date) in the Oracle DB is not valid; followed by that catch all msg (error); "go visit your local imm office"! I am at a lost as what to do when you are dealing with such non responsive and unhelpful people. You would think with current COVID issues and social distancing and Imm workloads it would be in their best interest to fix the dam problem! Snail mail 90 day reporting is not without its issue either! I gave up on it this month as a useless exercise.
  5. IMHO they are trying to drive you towards using a visa agent; you never have this issue when an agent does the submission for you. Trust me I know i have been down this road before many times. with WISE transfers and BKK bank statements. Now I pay an agent each year and guess what; Bob's your Uncle!
  6. Failure of IM online 90 day reporting system discussion; the gift that just keeps on giving. Don't waste your time and energies when it fails; IM is full of incompetent individuals who don't give a rats. Please don't lecture people on incorrect information being put into the system. It worked for me for 4 consecutive times and than after that never worked again. Only change in my status or information was my annual Non-O visa renewal from 2021 to 2022. After that never worked again; my assumption form data entry and IM database out of sync. Emailed IM Division 1 CW twice........the response............zero, none, zilth....nought...SFA. I decided to stop flogging a dead horse!
  7. Come on folks. Be realists; we all know it a time honoured tradition of ripping off Farangs at every opportunity from the taxi drivers and street vendors to the hospitals. Some things in life never change; just accept it and move on. To much money changes hands under the table here for any injustices to be rectified. And even if a decision is favourable, it's shelf life is only one daily news cycle. It's Thailand; regulation and rules are only guidelines for most Thais.
  8. Exactly, I have friends returning from the USA that live in Thailand using the Phuket Sandbox to avoid Bangkok ASQ hotels. Also, playing lots of Phuket golf courses at cheap prices.
  9. What a croc of #### Where do these brain dead officials get their daily intake of grass.
  10. Not since June 2019 but I was using it 4 to 5 times a year mid week for the previous 10 years. IMHO all ok, food and service good and staff very helpful and friendly. Most flights were full but get there early to check-in and try to get an exit row seat. Never any delays or cancelled flights in that period, Post COVID no idea?
  11. If it's anything like the up and down, works for you but not for me 90 day IM report solution it will be hell on earth trying to board domestic flights.
  12. Thai software solutions leave a lot to be desired. I have emailed two government departments recently about their website lacking basic TLS encryption. They run without security certificates basically running http:// in lieu of https:// When you see this negligence to basic security you should not be surprised by what else is exposed in their software.
  13. <deleted>, these people are the biggest flip flops in the world. Currently only 12% of the population fully vaccinated and lets say they can hit 20% by Oct 1. ( Yes, I know it's a big stretch goal for these loonies here) That means 80% of the population at Oct 1 can not eat-in at restaurants and access all the other services they quoted. WTH!
  14. Public parks, sports fields, sports complexes, and outdoor swimming pools can open up until 8pm. Spectators are not allowed at events and competitions. Ref: https://thethaiger.com/?p=420058
  15. Easy to identify and fix! Have every government official (including politicians) declare all their assets, investments, interests and tax returns (if any) for the period they have been in government positions. Once all on record investigate at random samples of various similar government positions held. Using Big Data Mining and Analytics you can observe trends and earning vs asset patterns of government officials. The investigators required would have to be commissioned internationally and with subpoena power to obtain evidence and where required issue criminal indictments. You can't have Ceaser investigating Caesar. As they say follow the money! But of course never going to happen here as certain time honoured practices are a traditional way of life.
  16. Parks, sports fields and other venues allowed to reopen in Bangkok Starting tomorrow…Sep 1 2021 Hair salons and barber shops can open, but services cannot be more than an hour per client and appointments must be made in advance. Massage parlours and spas can open, but can only offer foot massages and appointments must be made in advance. Fresh markets and flea markets can open up until 8pm. Stores in shopping centres, community malls, or similar establishments can open until 8pm. Aesthetic clinics, medical clinics for beauty services, and cosmetic clinics are allowed to accept customers with an advance appointment. Public parks, sports fields, sports complexes, and outdoor swimming pools can open up until 8pm. Spectators are not allowed at events and competitions. To remain closed… Entertainment venues, schools, cinemas, water parks and amusement parks, fitness centres, and arcades must remain closed.
  17. Good old Thai traditions never fade even in a COVID pandemic crises; rip off foreigners at every opportunity. It's a national sporting pastime for most Thais.
  18. Yep, sounds like the preferred option, given only 9.5% of the population has been fully vaccinated as of Aug 25, 2021. Let's know when they are available 555555
  19. COVID -19 variances ...variances.... everywhere. Nothing new to see here folks. It's a flu virus; just like our annual flu viruses they repopulate in mutation types each and every year. What else were we all the medical boffins expecting; that this Novel Coronavirus would not spawn ongoing multi mutations. C'mon man! Lets get on with life and just accept that this virus and it's mutation siblings will be with us forever.
