I am doing the updates but problem is Logtech M325 has USB receiver that, on my computer have discovered, must be removed to get beyond spinning stars on black screen after restarting.  Has been doing this for about 4 months on each monthly update and after repeated attempts/emergency power down would eventually work or get restore option to work.  This month removed mouse and booted OK.  Seems to be a common issue as others have reported it with wireless attachments in general and especially mouse and unless new driver available pulling is the option.

Perhaps try using Driver Booster while your wireless mouse is plugged in to see if there is any driver more suited to it.

Thanks Chicog. Only problem is, that is probably beyond my ability, but I will check it out.

Maybe it would be easiest to just buy a dongle?

Surely you can install Chrome? Just google "How to install Chrome Browser".

Then Google "How to install Browsec in Chrome".

Browsec puts a little globe icon in the Chrome toolbar. You click it to turn it on or off, or to select the location.

    It's easy.

I even use my own VPN on my home Router with my mobile and desktop. And Chicog is right.

I wouldn't use a VPN at home *, there is no point adding the overhead when you can secure your own Wireless network to a high standard.

    * Except to access blocked sites. But that's illegal in Thailand, so don't do it.

This is not expert advise but easy to do so would make sure everything attached to computer is pulled off and let it find after Windows loads one at a time.  If unable to load at all understand will have to attach keyboard to get into safe mode but try to avoid any wifi device until into windows (from someone with inability to do cumulative updates due wireless mouse).

You can't do Windows Updates because of a wireless mouse? How so?

Making some progress. Can access safe mode but not safe mode with networking.

If it doesn't lock up in Safe Mode then that's strongly hinting that it's a driver issue, since one of things safe mode does is load (funnily enough) "safe", generic Microsoft drivers, especially for the video card.

So for your next trick, tell us the make and model of the laptop.

  6. Well I hope the Arsenal team watched Swansea yesterday, and don't go out thinking Burnley is an easy win, especially as second place is the prize on offer and Chelsea have a routine win over form-whipping boys Hull to look forward to.

The good news is that apparently Cazorla has been renewed for at least one more year. The sooner he's fit the better.

Uber is an on demand service.

You install their app on your phone and create an account with your credit card (for billing purposes).

When you want to go somewhere, you open the app and it uses your phones GPS to find your current location.  You type in the address where you want to go and it contacts Uber cars near you and tells them where you are and where you want to go.  When a driver accepts the trip you get to see where he is on the map and how long until he will arrive at your location.

He arrives and picks you up, takes you to your destination and you get charged through the app.

The service works very well.   Drivers usually speak English and cars are nice.

GrabTaxi works the same way, expect instead of nice private cars they are all regular taxis.

And with Grab you can book taxis too.

  8. It's not actually a very weird symptom; that's why jam jar was easily able to find a couple of links on the subject.

Windows has always struggled with drivers.

Mind you, I notice they are trying to eliminate the Blue Screen of Death.

    By changing it to Green.

The reality is they are not really. There is a hardcore of anarchists that turn up to demonstrations and take them over and are violent and loot and destroy. The problem is the Clinton supporters do not immediately disavow and expose these terrorists and so they have to carry the blame for the results.

Bit like Muslims not denouncing the ISIS scum and thereby become complicit by their silence.

Actually it's a bit like that inasmuch as they do denounce them but for some people they are guilty by association.
