  1. Jaideeguy, why don't you take them on the scenic route via Mae Kamphong (with a waterfall) & then over the hill to Jae son NP, returning via the hwy 1252. All to the NE of Chiang Mai, closer to where you live? And probably a lot less crowded. Beautiful scenery, far from the madding crowds....

  2. Hmm, I'm guessing the lodges are the more expensive option and preferred by the more wealthy camper. Hence the partial relaxation. Peasants camping have less money/influence so still banned.

Have you seen how much money they spend on their tents and associated camping gadgets? In Mega Bangna there are several camping stores and the gear they sell is far from cheap.

Until I saw this article I was a bit confused as to who the intended customers of these shops might be. Now I get it, but still quite surprised camping is popular.

Tents with built in karaoke machine don't come cheap wink.png

  3. It's the going, getting, " being with" and getting rid of but the short answer is yes.

    I repeat

And I thought the states was paranoid.

What states "was" you referring to? Paranoia is a psychological problem suffered by people.

the United States. Why do you suppose the people over there go so far into debt to build up the worlds most powerful army to fight in Gorilla actions.

Leave the gorillas alone, they're an endangered species wink.png

  4. Now that I have the camera/mirror on order the only other thing that would be nice to have on the 2.2 WT that is on the 3.2 is the 8 way power seat.

Spoonman or Gideon, any idea if that is available and the cost?

Sorry CDlinks. I have no idea. I do know that original Ford WT parts are very expensive. I asked for a quote on the WT Roll Bar and was told that this costs about 28K. A carryboy roll bar is only 10K+

I asked about the stainless steel roll bar you see in the brochures for the XLT. Over 16,000 baht. Guess they don't sell too many....

  5. Not imaginary for everyone.

We've had some clown with one of these flying around our area recently. Luckily it was only for a couple of days, hopefully he crashed and burned.

Our property is in a very quiet area in the countryside. Weekends & holidays, sometimes every day, we get up to half a dozen of these freaking things at the 2 times of the day it's nice to sit outside. Early morning & late afternoon. Need an rpg launcher!!!!

As clear as the air around Chiang Mai wink.png

  7. Yes, be super careful about land next to the river in Chiang Dao. I was once offered a large plot that looked fantastic: 20 rai with the river along one side. Went back to look many times, taking different experts. Owner said never floods. Was well down the road to buying when by chance met the farmer who was renting part of it from the owner. "Does it flood?" "Sure it floods every year ... completely ... but only for a few days". Yeah, great!

Maybe the farmer doesn't want you to buy it? Then he'd lose his livelihood.

  8. So what is it....the verdict is still open.

Did the aforesaid person kick the bucket in the moat after being pushed from a balcony by a woman with big boobs???

    Presumed drowning/suicide.

Its not over until the fat lady with large appendages has sung.

    Don't you mean "swung"?

  9. Any way to turn the audio fuel low warning off? The light is sufficient.

...it doesn't sound,if you don't run it on fumes biggrin.png

...seriously now,I've found a small beeper like device under the passenger seat...maybe that's it...easy to disconnect,I guess...

Isn't that for your rear sensors?

    ...yes,that's it...smile.png ....so,you're on your own wink.png

At least you now know how to stop that annoying beep, when you're reversing close to an obstacle cheesy.gif

  10. At a guess, immigration do 8000 - 10000 extensions a year, based on between 30 and 40 a working day.

Of the foreigners I know staying more than 6 months a year, 75% extend at immigration annually. My guess would be 12-15,000. Many more short term starters each year.

I live here year round. I don't visit immigration. I doubt I'm the only one.

  12. The ford sales guy told me that he thought that they might offer some WT features beginning 2013. I just want to get the roof rails and the very 'fashionable' black roll bar at the back. Carry boy does offer something that does look 'alright' regarding the roll bar but I rather have the WT stuff hehehe

Stranfe, Ive been buying wildtrak and sending it back to OZ, press your dealer a bit harder.

The lowest I have let it go on the 'miles to go' before filling up is about 35km. At that point the fuel gauge needle was right on the lowest (empty) mark.

Not by choice but Ive had mine down to 6km to go, usually when the light comes on I try to fill it up at that point.
