  1. 2 replies started with "I believe" & "I've heard". Anything more definite? My wife & I asked at our local hospital (San Kamphaeng). Their reply was very vague......

Snake Bite Procedures - Maharaj is listed

Also a paper in the Chiang Mai Medical Journal is based on snake bite cases reported at the Chiang Mai University hospital.

If Pang-Soong lodge is advising travel to Maharaj, then it doesn't sound as if local, rural hospitals are worth bothering with. Don't waste your time, get straight to Maharaj.....

Is there VIP parking for venomous snake bite victims? ermm.gif

  2. Anyone know how many DEATHS occur in Thailand every year due to snake bites?

And how many deaths could have been avoided if anti venom was available? There hasn't been a decent answer yet to Semper's question. Which hospitals, if any, keep anti venom for pit vipers, kraits, or cobras?

  3. " . . drooling, headache, nausea, dizziness, vomiting, abdominal muscle cramps and loss of coordination . . "

Better steer clear of the veggies then as I get all of the above from Beer Chang alone!

Beer taunts the mind & soul, body health, divorce, crime, mental hospitals, or prisons, must faster then veggies, just drink water or www.aathailand.org

I guess you wouldn't spot a bit of humour if it slapped you in the face with a wet halibut......

  4. BANGKOK: -- Vegetables with a dangerously high level of pesticide have been sold in supermarkets and luxury department stores, the Foundation for Consumers said yesterday.

What a great deal: dangerously high level of pesticides in vegtables sold at high prices in high end stores....must be Thailand.

They're paying the extra cost of the poison.

All the fuss is about the high end stores. No mention of what the poorer members of society get to buy.

  5. produced by Doctor Company were tainted with Carbofuran at a level of 0.007mg per kg. The EU prescribes a safe level of Carbofuran as not exceeding 0.02mg

    Isn't 0.007 less than 0.02?

That was referring to yard long beans. From my experience growing veggies here, yard long beans are one of the easiest to grow, & never seem to be bothered by pests on my pesticide free garden.

  6. if the aircon doesn't blow cold air on shortly after start up, thee must be something wrong.

I think it was just time of the month for the OP, the air-con works just fine and is nice and cold after a few secs of the engine being on regardless of the outside temperature.

Sent from my GT-I9003 using Thaivisa Connect App

I was suggesting there was something wrong with his, not every Ranger. Taking 10 minutes to blow cold air as opposed to cooling the whole cab, suggests there is something not quite right. Your's sounds fine. Webbangkok's doesn't.

  7. Ah... well brought up MESmith .... as in vomited!

Nah we've already contracted The Pheasant Plucker Sisters to provide a roaming show all over your face .. oops .. I mean the place.

However knowing you are a Crass fan I'm sure you'd like to keep your hand in and follow the punk rockers slogan of "Do it Yourself"

    Smiled knowingly

Actually, truth be known, I'm not a fan of Crass, but prefer the more soothing melodies & harmonies of my namesake & his merry men, The Fall.

On a serious note, being a family man, living the rural life on my wife's smaller plot of land, commune life is not for me. But I wish you every success in your venture.

  8. Don't forget to buy First Class insurance, do not just use 3rd class

You can't buy 1st class insurance on cars over 7 years??? old. I'm sure if I am wrong someone will correct me.

Does this only apply to new coverage. My 2001 truck insurance is comprehensive. Been with the same insurers since new. Just checked the policy and all the coverage looks sound.
