  1. ...FINALLY!!!...got my Ranger 2.2 AT/XLT today !!!!...will share some more stories(and photos) while recovered from the "HANG" ...laugh.pnglaugh.png

funcat, we got the phone call from Ford CM yesterday to say it's on it's way, a couple more days.....

OK...I got the reverse 4 point sensors as extras for free+ floor mats, 500Baht of fuel and the A1 insurance of course...good luck!

I thought you were "going for gold"

btw were the reverse sensors in your original deal?

  2. Legitimate residents are treated as outsiders because they are not Thai.

    No we're not.

A simple show of a Thai driver's license or some cases only a Thai ATM card and you're 'treated' as a Thai.

I have had to pay tourist price even when showing my Thai DL and house book.

To enter a Thai National Park? I find that hard to believe.

I believe Chae son national park refuses the Thai price to "foreign residents".

  3. I mentioned earlier that I had not ever lived near a Wat. Do they really have amplifiers that they play at 4:00 in the morning?

    Occasionally, & it's VERY LOUD!!!!!!

Thank you for a honest answer.

But it's not so bad as the daily noise pollution. We don't get it where we live now, but the last house, the Wat was 500m away, & the windows shook.....

But, it was only once in a blue moon.

  4. Monks complaining about losing sleep. Kind of ironic considering the groans in our village when the <Snip!> turn on the speakers in the temple at 4am.

Sent from my GT-I9003 using Thaivisa Connect App

I don't live near a temple but I remember traveling in Indonesia and having the Mosque's turn there's on early in the morning.

Moving to a foreign country and complaining about the indigenous religion being too loud is the height of arrogance.

The only people complaining are the monks.

  5. If you're flexible on colors and/or manual instead of AT,you have a chance to get it sooner, but harry up to tell them that, because starting next month there will be less and less deliveries...

How could there be less deliveries than there appear to be now? sad.png Any idea why?

Maybe time to take a trip to Mazda - the look of that truck is growing on me......

Had a test drive in the Hi racer MT today. Didn't like the gear shift, but I guess you'd get used to it. Too used to my 5 MT Strada. Dashboard plastic looked nasty compared to the Ranger. And....... NO ABS or airbags!!! Only in the AT version, considerably more expensive. And the view over the bonnet (hood) is strange - 2 large ridges to the left & right. Whatever, not for me.

  7. I always find it amusing how any discussion on TV can become a personal attack. This thread started off with a work related concern and ended up with unrelated personal attacks.

I find it amusing that a sponsor can come out with a quote "What’s wrong with these peoples???" from a sample of 2

  8. I'm new to this, but we're seriously considering heading back to the UK. Now that the time period is 5 yrs for ILR, do you need to pass the financial requirements just to apply for the settlement visa, or still after 5 years living in UK?

Yes, the applicant and sponsor need to meet the new financial requirement in order to apply for a settlement visa.

But what about when applying for ILR after 5 years?

Yes, and still after 5 years. The financial requirement needs to be met at each stage - application for a visa, after 30 months in the UK, and after 60 months in the UK.

Thanks for the reply, not that I like it sad.png

What would happen if the financial requirements change while you're in UK waiting for the 5 yrs to pass. Do you think you'd have to pass increased requirements, or only those in place when you applied for the initial visa? Predicting your job status & finiancial status 5 yrs from now seems a bit tricky.

  10. I just talked to my manager and she said that they are promoting it but don't have stock yet. I'll try to figure out when it will be here. She's saying 2 months but...

    Promoting a local non-existant product...brilliant, only in Thailand !

A bit like Ford with their almost non-existent All New Ranger laugh.png
