poor prisoners are at the bottom of this hierarchy. They must wash other prisoners' clothes and clean the ward toilets to cover their expenses.

I can't believe that young adults nowadays can be so stupid to believe that they can get away with something stupid as this .

Being groomed by some organised criminals , I don't believe that .

A family friend described them as “good kids” and said they had made a serious mistake. Speaking to The Sun, the friend said: “OK, they’ve done something stupid this time, but everyone makes mistakes. They’ve been recruited and groomed by bigger criminals and exploited by them.”

The couple currently do not have private legal representation and will be assigned public defenders. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched by friends to help raise funds, though it has so far collected 455 pounds in five days. The organiser acknowledged that fundraising may be controversial but said those who know Mr Johnson believe he would help others in need.

The Daily Mail reported that the UK Foreign Office confirmed it is providing support to two British nationals detained in Turkey and is in contact with their families. If convicted, the pair face a minimum sentence of 10 years, with the possibility of up to 30 years under Turkish law.

No, not only in Britain.France which was always famous for the best fashion, girls I knew often didn’t drink at all to keep the weight off, looked fantastic in tiny bikinis etc. The young girls today have often the Kim Kardachian bum, and a ton of make up like Kylie Jenner. Unheard of before in France. Look at the Thai girls, pretty petit in the past, now quite fat, badly dressed and tottering round on 5 inch heels make them look stupid and cheap, also tons of make up. Is this a valid legal excuse in the UK as a mitigating defense? It would not apply in the US. Ridiculous the sheer volume of Brits being caught with cannabis are all coming out with this sort of defense.

I don't know where you are from - but I might guess the the US? If so, take a look back home....the state of your own country leaves a lot to be desired.

When I was between the ages of 10 and 16 I was very easily influenced and oftentimes environment can be stronger than willpower. But by the age of 20 you start developing some common sense and there's nothing common sense about smuggling any amount of cannabis much less many kilos.

They're not particularly lenient in Thailand or in Turkey so these guys are facing some serious prison time. And it won't be fun.

I'm a filthy colonial, my nation having been birthed from the loins of Mother England herself. We're heading down the same path as your once great nation is, but personal accountability isn't dead like it is in the UK, not yet at any rate.

Look at the 'bull whip and deport' comments on this board; you'll find that most are made by Brits, yet when it comes to a botoxed strumpet they're all love and forgiveness.
