Police at Sattahip Police Station were alerted to the incident and coordinated with rescue and emergency medical teams to respond immediately. On arrival, officers found a large crowd gathered around the injured woman, later identified as Mrs Chalouy Pongcharoen, 83, who was unconscious and unresponsive in the middle of the bridge. Rescue personnel administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation while awaiting additional support from the emergency unit at Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital.

Mrs Chalouy was then treated by responders from Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital, Sattahip Naval Base, before being transferred urgently to Somdet Phra Nang Chao Sirikit Hospital, Department of Naval Medical Services. Her condition was described as critical at the scene.
A Honda City, registration from Chonburi, was nearby with visible front-end damage consistent with a collision. The driver, identified as Ms Rattiros, remained at the scene to provide a statement to police. She told officers she had been driving to take her child to school when, upon reaching the bridge, the elderly woman crossed the road suddenly, leaving her unable to brake in time.

Dashcam footage captured the moment of the incident clearly, showing the elderly woman walking across the bridge before the vehicle struck her. Police said they will examine the footage along with other evidence collected at the scene.
Sattahip News reported that investigators are continuing to gather witness statements and assess the circumstances in accordance with legal procedures. The case remains under investigation as authorities determine any further action under the law.
