The incident was reported at 9.30am on 13 July 2026, when officers from Rat Burana Police Station were called to Soi Pracha Uthit 28 in Bang Mot, Thung Khru district. The scene was a five-storey commercial building converted into rental accommodation at 1022/40 Soi Pracha Uthit 28.
Police found the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Myanmar national Chat Min Htoo, on the third floor in an agitated state. He was holding a large sparta knife, waving it around, speaking incoherently and behaving aggressively towards anyone nearby.
Officers spent an extended period attempting to persuade him to put down the weapon. However, police said the man instead tried to attack officers and nearby residents before jumping from the third floor, an estimated height of six metres, while still carrying the knife in an apparent attempt to escape.
He landed heavily on the ground and suffered multiple injuries. Emergency responders reported that he was unconscious, breathing only faintly and unable to respond or move.
Volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation assessed the injured man before requesting an Advanced Life Support (ALS) medical team through the Erawan emergency system. After receiving initial treatment at the scene, he was taken urgently to Bangpakok 8 Hospital.
Thaitabloid reported that police later recovered the sparta knife from beneath a parked vehicle and seized it as evidence for the investigation. The investigation remains ongoing as police establish the circumstances leading up to the incident and continue legal procedures relating to the case.
