its not same like years ,sorry decade ago, when the ships direct stop at pattaya bay and soldiers leaving without undergoing immigration process.

today stop outside pattaya (sattahip or laem chabang) , soldiers having a time off mostly must return to ship at 4 am , and with immigration, and way to pattaya it will be far less than before ..and not many get 2-3 dayy off duty

and if they come , they sure spend more than a 1000 thb.................

And I was told to keep quiet about the fact that despite being sat nearby, the servicemen were being charged an extra 20 baht for each beer!

After 200 days at sea these service men should have some serious money in their savings accounts. No doubt there will be many Thai students out there looking for a donation to help them out with their further education.

Allowing the carrier to dock and resupply during a war is a surprisingly high-profile stance by Thailand. Thailand usually avoids taking sides in active conflicts and is still "neutral" on the Ukraine war.

Also a surprise that the ship isn't headed to one of the USA's standard logistic hubs for resupply. Good luck finding toilet paper and tampons in 7-11 for the next few weeks 😶

Yes, of course, I forgot to mention that. I think today's US navy are a fairly respectful and respectable breed. They've been on an exhausting deployment. If I were their CO I'd advise them that the whole world is watching and they should be on their best behavior. Probably won't be walking down Beach Rd at 4am drunk and wearing gold chains and Rolexes.

Really? Since when has Thailand let politics get in the way of making a baht? No one is going to criticize Thailand for being Thai.

I wonder if there are still girls in Isaan who are not on the way way to earn some bucks. A few days "hard😂" work and the money will last for the rest of the year.

Reason the stop is for crew rest and restocking of supplies. The ship is going back to San Diego. The sailors harsh have Food after spending 266 days at sea. Iran blew up the 5th Navy Group in Bahrain storage facility that the ships in the gulf are normally resupplied from so the reach was using supply from Diego Garcia. The crew was down to eating carrots and rice with dry burgers, running out of necessity for hygiene after working their standard 12 - 16 hr days. But POTUS had the balls This to stay they need to stay out there longer. A floating city with no food and maintenance was getting bad. Have a safe trip home ladies and gents. They did their jobs imo.
