Pattaya Woman Dies After Condo Fall

A 29-year-old Thai woman died after falling from a condominium in Pattaya on the evening of 26 May 2026. Police and emergency services from Pattaya City Police Station were called to the scene at 5.30pm, at a residential project in Kasetsin Soi 2.

Officers arrived to find the body of a woman lying on the road within the condominium complex. She was wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and black shorts and was later identified as 29-year-old Yuwarat Na Kae.

Initial investigations found that the woman lived with her 42-year-old British boyfriend in rooms 802A and 802B of the building. Following the incident, police secured the area and coordinated with forensic officers and a duty doctor to carry out a detailed examination at the scene.

Investigators are continuing to question witnesses, review CCTV footage and gather evidence to determine the exact cause of the fall. No further details about the circumstances leading up to the incident have yet been released by authorities.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing and that all evidence will be examined as part of legal procedures. Officers also confirmed that the victim’s relatives would be notified.

The incident has drawn attention locally in Pattaya, where police regularly investigate falls from high-rise buildings. Further updates are expected once forensic examinations and witness interviews are completed. Police are expected to update additional findings after reviewing all available evidence and CCTV recordings from the condominium complex.

Sad news. And the title scared me. My girlfriend is currently in Pattaya and she's 29 years old.

My sympathy to her family. Yet another young life needlessly lost.

I keep saying that Thailand should be keeping a register of balcony deaths and (importantly) what their likely cause was.

Thinking about it a bit more, it's possible that in Thailand we see a perfect storm of: large numbers of foreign visitors in areas like BKK, Pattaya, and Patong; heavy drinking; lots of older high‑rise accommodation; and, patchy safety retrofits and low balconies (especially by western standards).

Like cars have breathalyzer tests before you can start the car.....Pattaya condos should have breathalyzer tests before you can use the balcony....

Rest in Peace. Obviously we do not know the circumstances of this death.

One takeaway for me is never have an argument of fight with anyone on the balcony of a high rise. The risk of a tragedy resulting from a few minutes anger is too high.

Here's a job for our resident stats man Georgieboi. He could do regular patrols around the high rise apartments with his notebook and crayons and when one falling victim comes down he could record the sex , nationality , age and weight of them all for public interest.

Sad for her and her family. This seems to be a regular occurrence, sadly. Perhaps a new set of balcony railing heights need to be put in place. Raise them an extra meter or something. This problem persists with no solutions presented.

I've heard many serious arguments at my condo over the years. What were the outcomes of these dramas I really don't know or care. My wife and I keep to ourselves and have no friends there. I only use my condo for holidays. Where I live I've never heard a person even raise their voice.

Maybe it time to remove balconies from condos in Pattaya. Definitely must be the highest amount of so called balcony falls in the world.

Bruce, it's not the balconies that are at fault.

It's a choice by most, take the easy, selfish way out.

Sadly it's a combination of factors mostly mental health problems.

They have two option;

  1. Raise the height of existing and future balcony railings to meet western standards or

  2. Build a huge net around all condos to catch the free fallers like the fire dept. uses.

I believe it is time to require safety bars on all balconies in Thailand, including those in hotels, condominiums, and apartments.

Balconies should not remain open, as too many accidents occur when people fall from them

. Installing protective barriers would significantly reduce these risks and save lives.

I wondered if Thailand had the highest incidence of balcony falls in the world. This is what AI showed:

According to a controversial ranking maintained by the "Balearics Federation of Balconing," the United Kingdom has the most recorded balcony falls, injuries, and deaths among tourists in the Balearic Islands.

  • The group’s league table awards points for fatalities and injuries, with the UK leading significantly due to 42 deaths and 113 injuries since 1999.

  • The high numbers are largely attributed to the UK being the largest source of tourists to Spain, combined with a strong culture of binge drinking during stag and hen parties.

  • Germany and Spain typically rank second and third, respectively, though their lower per-capita rates suggest the disparity is driven by visitor volume rather than behavior.

What is it about Pattaya and condo falls? This rarely happens in Bangkok. Seems strange.
