Police in Suphan Buri are investigating the shooting deaths of a 45-year-old woman, her six-year-old son and a 42-year-old male friend at a house in Sam Chuk district.
The three bodies were discovered inside a single-storey concrete house in Nong Phak Nak subdistrict on 28 September, after relatives entered the property and found the victims.
Police said the woman, identified as Thiranyada, 45, was found dead in the bathroom beside a toilet. She had suffered a single gunshot wound to the head.
Her young son was found dead in a bedroom. The police report did not state the child's injuries.
The male victim, identified only as Athiphong, 42, was found lying in the middle of the house with a gunshot wound near his left ear. Investigators initially said he was a friend of the woman.
Neighbour heard sounds like hammering
A nephew of the deceased told police he had heard sounds at about 7.30pm the previous day. He said he heard three or four bangs but initially thought someone was hammering wood, possibly repairing a damaged house door.

His home is behind the property where the deaths occurred and he said he did not see any vehicles arriving or leaving at the time.
When he returned the following evening, he noticed that all the lights in the house were on. He also saw that there was no grass in the cattle pen, so he took grass for the cows before moving pig feed.
He then asked the woman's daughter to try the house door. It was unlocked. The daughter went inside, was shocked by what she found, and authorities were called.
Husband had been missing for days
Athiphong's wife later arrived at the scene and said she had not known her husband was at the house until someone telephoned her.
She told officers that he had left their home around three or four days earlier and had been missing until he was found at the scene.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Komdet Sukrattanawong, deputy superintendent of investigations at Sam Chuk police station, attended with Police Colonel Kiatichai Kerdchok, the station superintendent, forensic officers and volunteers from the Samerkan Suphan Buri Foundation.
Forensic officers have been gathering evidence while investigators review CCTV footage from the home and surrounding area and question people connected with the case. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities try to establish the facts and identify and locate a suspect.
