A 47-year-old man filmed breakdancing at a busy Udon Thani intersection has claimed he is signed to a major US record label and is preparing for a concert at the White House.
The man, identified as Withaya, or "Wit", became an online sensation after footage of his moves at the Nong Bua Market intersection attracted more than 10 million views. His claims about an international music career and a White House appearance have not been independently verified.
Dancer found living in Udon Thani
Reporters located Withaya on 24 August at his home in Mak Khaeng subdistrict, where he lives alone. He declined a formal interview, saying his US record label had instructed him not to speak to the media, but spoke informally with journalists.
Withaya said he entered the entertainment industry when he was 11 and had worked with international singers and bands. He also claimed to have released albums, produced music for films and major streaming platforms, and appeared in television dramas.

He said he had taken a break of about 15 years from the music business before returning to it.
According to Withaya, his public dancing around Udon Thani forms part of his preparation for a major White House concert in the United States. He claimed the US-based label had sent him back to Thailand for training before he returns to the US for the event.
He maintained that he was not ill, saying that people may simply not know about his overseas career.
Police examine possible road offences
Muang Udon Thani Police Station is now reviewing the viral footage and CCTV recordings from the area. Lt Col Chainarong Khantaseema, the station's deputy traffic inspector, said Withaya's actions could amount to three traffic violations.
These concern parking in a prohibited area, riding without a helmet, and leaving a vehicle to stand on the road in a way that obstructs traffic. Officers have been instructed to confirm the identity of the man from the footage before any legal action is taken.
No confirmation has been provided by any record label, the White House or relevant authorities regarding Withaya's claimed concert appearance.
