A 27-year-old Vietnamese woman has been arrested over the alleged theft of a Chinese tourist's Rimowa suitcase containing cash and watches worth more than 200,000 yuan, at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Tourist Police announced the arrest on 16 September alongside Suvarnabhumi Airport director Kittipong Kittikachorn and other agencies involved in the investigation.
The suspect, named as Miss Ong My An, had travelled from Ho Chi Minh City on flight VJ805. She faces an allegation of theft at an airport at night under an arrest warrant issued by Samut Prakan Provincial Court.
Suitcase vanished from baggage belt
The theft was reported at about 8pm on 7 September 2569, when Chinese tourist Qin Yusong arrived at Suvarnabhumi on flight GX8907.
Qin told police that his pink Rimowa suitcase had disappeared from baggage carousel 15. The bag was said to contain cash and watches with a combined value exceeding 200,000 yuan.

He subsequently filed a complaint with Suvarnabhumi Airport Police Station.
Tourist Police Division 1, airport police and airport security staff reviewed CCTV footage and identified Ong as the alleged offender, according to the authorities.
CCTV trail led to Huai Khwang condo
Investigators said the suspect took a taxi after the alleged theft and hid the suitcase at a condominium in the Huai Khwang area of Bangkok.
She then travelled to the Bo Win area of Chon Buri province, police said. On 15 September 2569, officers received information that she had returned to Huai Khwang and was travelling towards Sukhumvit Soi 6.
Police followed and arrested her, before searching accommodation in Huai Khwang. They said they recovered the suitcase and all of the alleged stolen property.
