Combined security operations to search eight targeted locations in Lamphun’s Mae Tha district for drugs crimes on Sunday morning managed to capture only one drugs addict while others had fled ahead of the raids.

It was suspected that the suspects eluded capture due to a leak among the 50 soldiers, police, and local administrators involved in preparing the operation.

Officers led by Mae Tha district chief Yothin Prasongkwamdee apprehended drug suspect Sakul Thamchai, 27, along with one yaba pill from a house in Tambon Tha Sob Sao. When his urine test yielded positive results for the presence of an illegal substance, the man confessed that he was addicted to yaba and was handed over to Mae Tha police investigators for further legal actions.

Officers found another seven targeted locations deserted. Some drugs paraphernalia and traces of yaba pills were found at several locations.

Tip off, find that hard to believe with the dedicated, honest and upstanding law enforcement personal Thailand is renowned for.

as has been proven time and again the army need to do these raids without informing anyone else, strangely enough when the police are involved there seems to be a lot of failed raids....

In the provinces the police often have some involvement in the sale of drugs, and sometimes run the show completely. The less they are told the better in certain cases.

didnt say they werent, just saying that when they do raids by themselves they always appear to be successful, this  is common knowledge if you care to read the news, the police are very often part of the actual problems in the first place.

no you didnt , BUT you pointed the finger at one group when,  if you knew anything about the issue you would know the military are just as complicit and are often further up the chain (right up to being the "chefs")..and therefore would be pointing the finger at them all...but at the "street level yes the bib are at the forefront..

In Thailand everybody is involved and participates in the distribution of monies. It's part of Thai Culture 102 Finance!
