UDD won’t leave Pheu Thai alone: Nattawut

BANGKOK: -- The United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) will continue to support and conduct activities alongside the Pheu Thai Party as long as it adheres to the democratic principle, regardless of who will be its next leader, UDD secretary-general Nattawut Saikuar said on Tuesday (Sept 5).

 

Mr Nattawut said this when asked in what direction the UDD would move now that former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra has fled the country ahead of the ruling on her rice-pledging case by the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions initially set for Aug 25.

 

As long as Pheu Thai still adheres to the democratic line, the UDD will continue to support it and conduct activities along with it, he said.

"I believe the people understand Ms Yingluck’s decision, which will not affect the democratic principle which the UDD has upheld for the past 10 years, even before Ms Yingluck became a politician.  Therefore, it is not a matter for us to think about who stays or goes."

 

In other words the paymaster is still in charge / in control, and all of them continue to use the word democracy when in fact their activities are not democracy / democratic at all. 

By far the most self serving public figure in politics, he doesn't do anything unless it is to his advantage.

Dear Mr Thaksin,

Don't worry, we will support you and Pheua Thai whichever of your relatives with no experience or interest in politics you appoint as our dear leader.

Providing you can support us financially to the level of comfort we enjoy (remember my preference for fine wines), then you will have us, as red shirt leaders, undying support. (I say undying because do remember when any bullets start flying we are the first to leave the scene as at Rachraprasong in 2010).

So the non elected UDD's Secretary General, appointed and paid for by one person, pledges to continue to support the political party which is owned by the same person who owns the UDD; and of which political party he was an MP and as such received a salary from the owner in addition to his parliamentary salary.
