LOPBURI, 6 September 2017 (NNT) – A rice inspection panel checking stocks in Lopburi province has found no irregularities but asked the public to report any information involving misconduct.

Deputy Police Commander Pol Gen Dejnarong Suthichanbancha, as head of the rice inspection panels field team has led representatives of the Royal Thai Army, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the Thai Chamber of Commerce’s Rice Inspection Committee and other state agents in checking government rice being stored in Lopburi province to make sure private handlers have satisfied all regulations.

A check of stocks run by Charoensap of Lopburi province spanning 4 warehouses found no irregularities with owner Traisit Charoenhiranpokhin lauding the inspection as validating his operations. The company requested the check to bolster confidence in its warehouse.

A check at Charoenprapha Rice Mill, owned by Wongwiroj Palawat, similarly found no faults.

Pol Gen Dejnarong said his inspections confirmed all the rice was the grade affixed during initial checks and let on the government wishes to put the stocks to market for consumers, which pay the highest price. He said any suspicious or untoward activity concerning the stocks can be reported to the hotline 1599 or area military units.
