Drugs, gun found in raid on Pattaya pub

By The Nation

PATTAYA: -- Police, troops and district officials who raided a Pattaya pub for violating closing hours rules early on Wednesday found a gun, drugs, drug users and underage drinkers.

The raid at the Apple Pub on Sai Sam Road in South Pattaya was conducted at 4.30am and led by Naris Niramaiwong, chief of Chon Buri’s Bang Lamung district.

Bars are required by the law to close at 2am, but the officials said they found about 150 people drinking and dancing when they entered the premises.

They said that 18 of the people there were under 20 and seven others were found to have no ID card with them.

Thirty drinkers tested positive to drug use, with one of them identified as a popular radio DJ, Karisorn Saelai.

The authorities also found eight zip bags of ketamine, two ecstasy pills and 14 zip bags of crystal meth on the floor.

A .38 revolver and nine rounds of ammunition were found in a cashier’s counter.

The owner of the pub, Sipinda Ratanayenjai, was charged with violating closing-time laws, selling alcoholic drinks outside of permitted hours, allowing people under 20 to enter the premises, allowing drug abuse, allowing a pistol to be brought into the venue, and allowing people without an ID card to enter.

What about breaking the noise barrier?  I went past there at 11.30 with my car windows open - I couldn't hear my Elvis music.

I actually think BIB are listening to citizens complaints about excessive noise from these blind pigs.

Looks like a hard lesson has been learned and the boys in brown aren't about to stand for any more nonsense. This should be the last time any premises owner dares to stay open past 2am anywhere in Pattaya area. The law is the law. I feel safer.

5 posts in and no one mentioned that the owner must have forgot to pay his monthly dues.
Things are definitely changing.
