Where To Buy Learning Cd-roms

Featured Replies

post-34386-1168115288_thumb.jpgThese are some great CD-ROMs. They play on your computer and have plenty of colorful cartoon pictures and good audio describing objects in both Thai and english.

I believe their initial intent is to teach english to Thai, but it works almost as well if you're learning Thai. It speaks in both Thai and English.

I bought them in Chiang Mai, but I need more volumes. The list price is about 250 baht each ( a bit pricey, but worth it. )

Where do I purchase them in Bangkok?

I would like to work through all the volumes, it covers different aspects of life, such as classroom, sports life, animals, traffic, etc.

I wish I could read Thai so I could get more out of it!

Thanks! Oh, these might be at some university, since I bought mine at a mall near a university. Like I said, I believe they are to teach english, but you can use them to learn Thai easily enough.

Seen them in malls all over CM at irregular times, sold from cart stalls rather than fixed permanent stores. Not sure what their schedules are, also not sure if they are available in Bangkok, but I would be surprised if they werent given how widespread they are in CM.

Perhaps check in MBK, Siam Discovery Center and Central Chid lom.

If you mean the set of 8 CDs then they are sold mainly on big shopping centers, usually on first floor (I have bought one in BigC, Chiang Mai). They are very nicely made but, as you said, and considering the set will cost you 2,000 Baht, you can find many other CDs much cheaper and with bigger content. Some of the old time cassettes, made 10 years ago and earlier, are much better than many new CDs hastily made in our computer age.

im pretty sure ive seen them on the 1st floor of panthip plaza (by that I mean the one above the ground floor). 2/3rd floor of pahthip also has shops selling all sorts of cds worth checking there too.

dont go esp. to get them as i might be mistaken, but if u are in the area then check it out.

Yesterday they were all on sale at Fortune Town in the IT Center on a table right smack in the middle of the hall. 250 baht each. All 8 volumes, I believe. The salesgirl was very nice and not too pushy when she tried to encourge me to buy one.

How much content is actually on one disk?
