snoop1130
Unburied garbage causes stink in Trang By The Nation Over 20,000 tonnes of garbage have accumulated in Trang since its landfill site was closed after exceeding capacity. The Trang governor held a meeting on Thursday to discuss disposal after the accumulated garbage on the 100-rai (16 hectare) landfill plot in Tambon Tapthiang in Mueang district caused a severe foul smell which angered neighbouring residents. The run-off from the over-full garbage dump had also polluted nearby waterways. When regional administrators were ordered to cease dumping waste at the site, a chain reaction ensued as garbage then accumulated in their own communities. The latest meeting about the crisis was told that 20,000 tonnes of accumulated garbage so far need to be buried as soon as possible. The meeting failed to reach a permanent solution, but some immediate steps were agreed on. Participants decided that the provincial administration would first try to bury 2,275 tonnes of garbage that had spilled on to a main road. Then a private contractor would be hired for Bt9.8 million to get rid of the rest of the garbage. The meeting was told that a bidding process to select a private contractor had yet to be held. Three private firms were allowed to present proposals to the meeting for sustainably dealing with the garbage. One firm proposed building a garbage recycling plant. The governor said the provincial administration would hold a public hearing for the public to submit their opinions on a permanent method for garbage disposal. ChrisY1
And just where does the private contractor dispose of this mountain.....? These mountains of trash are everywhere.....no-one seems to care! Garbage in Thailand has been completely overlooked with a view that this issue will disappear..... One day in the distant future, administrations will be able to employ real people that have vision and ideals....for ages, administrators in almost every sphere of government, are useless and self serving, with zero idea of what their position requires!
