A very outdated perception of what actually occurs here these days. Insurance agents and dashcams have made a huge difference.

 

If you drive here don't be cheap- take out first class insurance.

These poor people are not in a position to give the police any money so sfa will be done.

Surely the police would get a "commission" on restitution paid by the guilty party.

If the car has tax its covered upto 100kTHB for insurance this is government scheme, which look like the case here.

 

In addition many oweners take out first class insurance to guve much higher levels.
