PETERTHEEATER
Can anyone tell me where in the province I can buy a small quantity of ACETONE. I need half a litre. I have tried various paint stores without luck but suspect that it may be available in a bottle or can labelled only in Thai. What is the Thai name for the chemical ACETONE? Thanks in anticipation......

thaibeachlovers
It is used as nail polish remover. Can buy a reasonably big bottle from places selling nail polish.
PETERTHEEATER
Thanks to both. The products sold as nail varnish remover contain acetone but, also, other additives which contaminate it. I'm looking for straight unadulterated acetone.

manarak
Acetone isn't sold in Thailand because of being a component in meth, as another poster said. I had to remove silicone remnants and had to bring mine from abroad.

I considered bringing some from abroad but airline regulations prohibit the carriage on passenger flights of flammable liquids........you brought yours overland.....
