3BB router & package. Moving to another province.

If moving to another province far, far away.

What happens, or what can we do with our 3BB router that's connected to the phone line?

Is it pretty much plug and play - plug it out and plug it into the phone line in the new house, and just change the billing address with them?

Or do they have to come out, set it all up again, etc etc?

work's online so it needs to be as quick and as smooth as possible.

You'll need to contact 3BB and see if they can arrange to move your service to the new location, or cancel the current service and re-enroll for the new location.

When ordering new service or moving to a new location a bit of 'provisioning' is required to provide someone with wired Internet Service.  Once a Billing/Provisioning account has been created a physical or virtual connection has to be made from a telco/ISP 'port' (regulating service authorization, UL/DL Speeds, etc) that's patched over to whatever topology is reaching your location (Telephone Wire, Cable TV, Fiber Optic, etc).

While 'some' routers can be moved and re-used in a new location, it really depends on the procedures and infrastructure being used by the ISP of where you are now and where you will be later. They may say it will work, or require you 'purchase' another new router, or use incompatible brands of equipment, or different topology altogether (ADLS vs VDSL vs Cable vs Fiber Optic).

Talk to 3BB.
