mlkik
I have successfully applied for and received 2 non O visas for retirement purposes in Udon. However due to indecision and personal problems I have left Thailand with the view to going back to work in the UK before making the 12 month extension. I know I have been foolish not only once but twice and now need to know how to obtain a further Non O for retirement purposes. I can not return to Udon Immigration as they were not best pleased last time. My thoughts are going to Laos Vientiane but am confused about the requirements. Where do I get a Thai Police clearance certificate?
wpcoe
Can you get a Non-Immigrant O visa in the UK?
ubonjoe
If you are getting a state pension you get a single or multiple entry non-o visa from the embassy in London. If not perhaps you could apply for a OA long stay visa, The OA visa allow unlimited one year entries for a year from the date of issue. You would need a police clearance and a medical certificate plus financial proof. To apply for a single entry non-o in Vientiane you will need a police clearance and a medical certificate that you can get here. It takes as much as the 30 days to get the police clearance in Bangkok. You could get the non-o visa in Savannakhet. If using the money in the bank option you will need proof you are retired which can be a income letter from the UK embassy. If you can prove a income of at least 65k baht you would only need a bank book showing a small amount of funds in the bank along with income letter. I have 1.2 million baht in a Thai account and am 50 years old. I previously converted my Tourist visa to a Non O in Udon but that option in Udon is not really viable anymore. I will soon return on a Tourist visa which I received today from London. I just need to find out the best and easiest way to get a Non immigrant O . Previously all I needed was 800000 baht in a Thai account and a letter from the Bank. Edited September 15, 2017 by mlkik

Savannakhet would be the easiest if you could get an income letter from the UK embassy for any amount or source to go along with the 800k baht in the bank. You can get the income letter by mail. See: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/how-to-obtain-a-pensionincome-letter-for-thai-immigration Otherwise you could get a police certificate to satisfy Vientiane. Info here for getting one. http://www.pcscenter.sb.police.go.th/eng/ You can get one by using an agent as well (click the button that says "By Out Source" on the left side of the page). Or you could get one while in the UK see http://www.acro.police.uk/police_certificates.aspx . Then get a medical certificate from any clinic here. Tanoshi
I assume you want to get the Non Imm O for the purpose of obtaining an extension of stay based on retirement. The process is to convert your TV to a Non Imm O at Immigration which they will only do as a prelude to applying for the extension. It sounds as though you've twice started this process at Udon, then not proceeded with the extension. Naturally they feel you've wasted their time and tried to circumvent the system, so you've burnt your bridges there. One option is to do the conversion at Bangkok, but you'll need a Bangkok address while it's processed. Once you have the extension you can return to Udon but will have to file a formal change of address in order to make your 90 day reports there. If I were to apply to change my tourist visa in Pattaya. How long does the contract for accommodation need to be. Previously I asked at Jomtien and they told me 1 month contract would not suffice. The Police clearance in Bangkok may also be an option. Can I just walk in and apply?

Can I just walk in and apply? Jomtien is worst place to do a change to a non immigrant visa entry. They make it as difficult as possible. I am sure they will still want more than a 1 month rental agreement. You can just walk in and apply for the police clearence but you need the docments listed here. http://pcscenter.sb.police.go.th/filedownload/infomation-service-4.pdf It costs more to use an agent but it might be quicker and easier. This is the agent the button on the site leads to. https://www.a-plusservice.com/
