Considering the never-ending conflict in and around Israel it is hardly the place any sane person would go for "...better financial opportunities." The issues with Israeli employers are nothing new and go back a long time as well. If this case gets a lot of publicity in Isan it may discourage others from going anywhere near that cesspool of violence. -
