The crazy Yingluck scenario few people want

the fact she did a runner says it all, claimed innocence and would defend it but never intended too. She has lied to all her supporters once again, trouble is they are not smart enough to realize they are just being strung along for the shins political pleasure, they actually think they are important to them. No mater which way the decision on her goes she has shown that all that is important to the shins is themselves and their money

Her flight was a very wise move on her part. I expect you and I would have done the same if, like her, we were being fitted up.

As for the "Verdict" on the 27th, it'll be whatever the little guy in the PMs chair says it will be.

Thai politics is known for story lines whose twists out-do even the best thrillers.

there was a word oopsi; this is a court decision, not politics; well, that is what the surface logic 'thinks'; my bet is a politically expedient decision, expedient for the junta

I think I asked the same or if she has been abducted soon after the news broke of her absence but my question was dismissed as nonsense. I think you have a valid question.

BUT

I would imagine Mr T would have made it known, keeping it from him may be difficult.

Yeah, Thaksin would have at the very least tweeted something about his sister not showing up when his plane landed in Cambodia to pick her up.

This "trial" has cemented Thailand's place as a third-world banana republic.

A PM, overthrown in a coup, is put on trial by the coup government for 'negligence'. The prosecuting agency (NACC) which has cases against the yellow/green coalition going back to the mid 2000's, drops everything to prosecute. A 'government' with section 44 powers 'says' all will be fair.

The 'verdict' is unimportant. It will solve nothing; it will be a mere 'talking point' for one side trying to put a sheen of legitimacy on their actions.

The world is laughing.

What a waste...

I don't think the world is laughing....most would not be aware, and if they were, they wouldn't care.

Are coups legal ?  Is all that is said to be legal fair and just ?  Would not be so quick to pass judgment those who are judged by those who know no repercussions for their actions.

Here endeth the first lesson.

She is probably so far from Thailand she is able to hide in plain site. Or she is at some gated, spacious home

Nope she's in my basement.

Is that a euphemism for  the Yingluck judgement?

perhaps if you had made it past the first paragraph you would understand.

Australian care. They downgrade ties with Thailand and imposed travel restriction on the coup leaders.

Just a show for the public. Who was the general minister there last week or so with the dancers?

Ask the average Aussie who Yingluck was and they would not have a clue.

it would be a grave mistake to kill her

Which makes it even more probable, when you consider the performance of this junta.

Glad you crossed out General. Mrs Kobdarn tourism minister is not a coup leader. Australia Minister for foreign affairs did visit Thailand and brought a message of wanting to see election soon. They care enough to visit and brought a message.

Yeah, but. . .

I had a strange dream the other night about Yingluck and a bloke in uniform who looked vaguely familiar. He had apparently just informed the embattled former PM that her fellow defendant been handed a lengthy prison sentence for his role in the rice pledging scheme.

She was was visibly shell-shocked and the geezer in khaki was whispering into her ear. . .

". . . and you can expect to join him if you stick around. Of course, should you decide to do a runner, we could always look the other way - but onbly on three conditions: 1 You will lie low until the affair has blown over. 2 You never admit what really happened. 3 You agree to permanent exile. . . "

Before Yingluck could answer, I woke up - greatly relieved that it was just a silly dream.

Deputy Prime Minister General Tanasak Patimaprakorn was there and in charge of the troupe

A brave capable politician who won an election and then was set up and bullies by thugs. LLTL!

Oooh ... is that an insult; I am honoured that you turned your high-powered perception upon my rather frivolous post; but for your sake, and because I'm so impressed with your intellect, I'll explain what it all meant using another poster's words, as mine are obviously far below your intellectual level:

"As for the "Verdict" on the 27th, it'll be whatever the little guy in the PMs chair says it will be."

And what has October got to do with YL and the court case.

I am sure no one in the country wants any trouble during the final period of mourning.

I do not understand why so many posters say "the world is laughing". Many in the world do not even know where Thailand is let alone what goes on here.

Thanks for that...I couldn't remember his name (and, to be honest, couldn't be bothered goggling it!). I doubt if many other people could too - that is how concerned most people/countries/Australia  are - except a few hardened TVF posters.

I am sure that the final period of mourning will far out-way any interest in YL, with exception of a few die-hards who don't count for much at any time.

Sorry I can't find any reference of the Deputy PM Tanasak visiting Australia. Perhaps you can provide a link. He did received an Australian foreign ministry delegation in Bangkok.

But if she is found to be non guilty, and if she comes back, she will no doubt have to face contempt of  Court charges...

Read the article, it is clearly stated there, if that does not convince you, see the other links.
