Her police security detail know.  Ask them.  Politely to start with.  Then again after as spell at one of the army attitude readjustment facilities that were so popular a year or two back.  I am sure that their memories

will recover.  Shouldn't be too difficult.  No actual torture required.  Just a couple of weeks, extended if necessary, of early morning calasthenics, no acces to cigs or alcohol, and zero home comforts will probably bring about a better attitude and spirit of cooperation.

Inspector Prawit Clouseau seems in total confusion and trying desperately to make up excuses. The buck for her escape stops with him and the heat seems to be coming on.

In one breath he says" Yingluck had fled the country via Aranyaprathet border". But he wraps up his commentary by saying...."It remains unclear exactly which border checkpoint she slipped through."

In other words he hasn't got a clue. Hardly surprising given the quality of the senior military leadership.

That's a bit harsh . . . soldiers are trained to fight - not to think

all about appearances, show,  you put on a uniform, then get to make a living doing nothing

ninety percent of time, or pushing papers, every country, with the exception of teachers uniforms in Thailand,

the teachers who are the greatest workers, dedicated , you will find,  what the heck , if they are amused, we are only temporarily inconvenienced,  and all things must pass, except your Soul, unborn , never dies, always there,

If she left Thailand without getting a Thai exit stamp. How can she be legal with a valid stamp from another country now? I thought you needed to exit Thailand before you could get a Cambodian or Laos stamp for example?

She probably got the whole stamp and inkpad on her way out....DIY-stamping...

'Hardly surprising given the quality of the senior military leadership.' Senior being the operative word in at least one instance.

She floated across, thereby not touching foreign soil on either side of the border. no stamps needed...............

Thanks Ossy!  That clearly states exactly why the former Land of Smiles is going to hell in a handbasket.

Cheers, Jimbo . . . sounds like we're all in a good Saturday morning humour, after a week of adrenalin-fuelled news, which I have, now, almost completely forgotten. I did enjoy the thread about the police driver who got bumped off the road. . . that was ace!

Yingluck ‘escaped through casinos’: Prawit

Runaway ex-premier Yingluck Shinawatra is believed to have been secretly driven by car to the border province of Sa Kaew before sneaking out of the country through casinos, Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan said Friday.

Yingluck’s flight came a day or two before the Supreme Court for Political Office Holders delivered its verdict on the ricepledging scheme that cost country billions of baht.

Prawit was speaking after police arrested three police officers and detained a car suspected of being involved in helping Yingluck flee the Kingdom.

“Deputy national police commissioner Pol General Srivara Ransibhramanakul, who talked to the three police officers, said one of them, had confessed that Yingluck fled with a secretary to Sa Kaew’s Aranyaprathet district,” Prawit said.

The car that was used in the BangkokSa Kaew trip was now in police custody, Prawit said, adding after leaving Sa Kaew, they were picked up by another car that had still not yet been found.

They arrived in Aranyaprathet late at night, he added, when all the border checkpoints were closed.

Prawit conceded there were several ways Yingluck could have used to leave the country but added: “She is suspected of sneaking out of through one of the casinos along the border.”

I've been in the casinos at Poi Pet (across the border from Aranyaprathet). There is no Stargate to another dimension, unless it's through the Ladies, where good manners told me not to check.

This charade has long gone on long enough. My "friends" and I agree that we're all better off without her. In jail she'd become a martyr, whereas "out of sight" she'll soon be "out of mind" for her dwindling followers. An expensive but necessary "disappearance" to end the Great Rice Ponzi scheme. Now for the face saving...

Because the casinos are actually constructed astride the border, with a door in one of the interior walls leading to Cambodia.

The door is usually locked, but on this occasion someone must have been bribed or coerced into leaving it unlocked.

Nothing gets past me

(err.......except Yingluck of course.)

done visa runs through there many times. the casinos are in cambodia already after thai immigration. you are free to use the front door of any casino to walk around and no problem late night just have passport in hand and say you stay at one of hotels away from casino area or go to eat away from casino area. the tiny checkpoint is more meant to keep cambodian undesirable out of casino area.

Will we ever know which high policeman ordered to bring her out of Thailand?? And will he go to jail for 10 years like mr Prayuth said this week?

As it not already been said that anyone that helped her cannot be charged with 'aiding and abetting' a fugitive as so far she hasn't been found guilty of anything!

have being to that border many times,a train takes up to 6hrs from bkk.,leaving at 1pm.the border shuts at 5pm or 6pm as well.she would have had to pay alot to get thru.casino,s are at the border too.alot of tea money both sides would have being needed

And what makes you think she took a train? As for the "tea money", I am sure she made sure before leaving that she had ample in her "baggage" - in fact probably enough to leave a tip for the driver as well!
