Russia tells North Korea, U.S. 'hot heads' to calm down

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Russia's foreign minister said on Friday the leaders of North Korea and the United States should tone down their bellicose rhetoric and warned that a collapse of a nuclear deal between Iran and world powers would only embolden Pyongyang.

"The exchange of threats is quite bad, unacceptable," Sergei Lavrov told reporters at a news conference." We have to calm down the hot heads," Lavrov said, adding that he was convinced a Russian-Chinese proposal could still pave the way for a diplomatic solution to the North Korea crisis.

Lavrov added that a collapse of the Iran nuclear deal would give North Korea little incentive to drop its nuclear program in return for sanctions relief.

As usual, there's a financial side to this.  Russian business with North Korea is up some 75% this year.  Money to be made! LOL

North Korea has successfully skirted sanctions for two decades and developed a nuclear arsenal thanks to a network of Chinese middlemen, rogue Russian partners and no shortage of people willing to help, even at a steadily escalating price.

I find it an interesting testimony to our media manipulated mindset where someone suggesting diplomacy over nuclear war as the better option is ridiculed.

Interesting is that it comes from the country that started out NK on the path to nuclear weapons and still provides support for it to this day.  Hardly media manipulation.  We call it talking out of both sides of your mouth.

Actions speak louder than words.

You bet!   Russia now has a desperate energy customer who'll pay next to anything for the deflated oil & gas they have to accept bargain basement prices for from anyone else, if they can sell it at all!  I wonder if Vlad has any problem with counterfeit currency, N. Korea's spécialité de la maison..   (If he's smart, he makes fatboy pay in gold.)
