Thai Ambassador to South Korea urges Thai laborers to seek lawful entry to the country

BANGKOK, 25 September 2017 (NNT) – The Thai Ambassador to South Korea has indicated the rate of Thai people being turned away from the country has remained unchanged, recommending Thai laborers make their way to the nation through the proper channels.

Thai Ambassador to South Korea H.E. Saran Charoensuwan has said that the amount of Thai people being turned away when seeking entry to South Korea has remained at a high of double the average rate over the past 3 years as over half of the 100,000 Thais in South Korea are suspected of being illegal migrant workers.

He admitted that South Korea has intensified its efforts against illegal laborers from Thailand as they have continued to penetrate its immigration policies. He noted however that South Korea has been stringent against all nations in this regard with no particular emphasis on Thailand.

The ambassador urged Thai people who wish to enjoy South Korea’s high salaries to seek lawful entry as it would also give them access to benefits such as medical coverage as well as allow them to maintain their dignity.

Doing things ''through the proper channels'' is just not the Thai way !
