AOT estimates one billion baht in compensation to be demanded from ex-PAD co-leaders

BANGKOK: -- The compensation for damages from the blockade of the Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports to be demanded from 13 former core leaders of the People’s Alliance for Democracy by the Airports of Thailand was estimated to amount to about a billion baht, including 522 million baht in principal plus 7.5 interest rate for a period of nine years.

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico will search another three days beneath the rubble for possible survivors of the September 19 earthquake even though it is unlikely rescuers will find anyone alive, the country's chief of emergency services said on Monday.

BEIJING (Reuters) - China plans to delay a deadline for implementing new food import regulations by two years until Oct. 1 2019, a senior EU official said on Tuesday, following a lobbying effort by Europe and the United States amid concerns about disruption to trade.

BANGKOK — The Phra Khanong Provincial Court in Bangkok on Tuesday handed down a two-month suspended sentence and 2,000 baht fine to an activist who deliberately tore his ballot in protest during last year’s charter referendum.

      ADB forecasts strong economic growth in Asian region

       

      BANGKOK, 26th September 2017 (NNT) - The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has forecast that Thailand's gross domestic product (GDP) will expand by 3.5% this year on the back of strong export figures, while government investment policies are expected to lead to 3.6% GDP growth next year.
