Thai baht to remain volatile pending US monetary policies

BANGKOK, 3 October 2017 (NNT) - Volatility in the Thai baht is expected to continue, pending monetary policies of the United States.

The Bank of Thailand (BOT) has advised forex businesses to account for increased volatility in currency markets. The central bank will continue to monitor the currency markets and administer appropriate policies as necessary.

According to the BOT, the Thai economy is continuing to expand despite global volatility and is experiencing recovery in the agriculture, tourism, and private consumer sectors. Government investment policies are becoming more clear but may experience delays, while private sector investment remains stable.

Despite the recovery in Thai exports, various risks remain in the global trade sector, such as US tax reforms and monetary and trade policies, as well as geopolitical issues between countries.

So nothing to do with Trump saying he wants to cut the trade gap between the two countries then that the PM's coming hone with.

The only good baht is a weak baht!
