A SENIOR POLICE officer has been implicated for allegedly enabling the flight of former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra, deputy national police chief Pol General Srivara Ransibrahmanakul said yesterday.

Srivara said the police had information that the officer was a “mastermind” in the case. Yingluck’s flight, he said, could not have been carried out without a mastermind.

 

Police are waiting for the results of DNA tests, expected tomorrow, before extending their investigations, he said.

 

If the DNA traces found in the Toyota Camry belong to Yingluck, her driver – Pol Colonel Chairit Anurit of the Metropolitan Police – would also be charged with dereliction of duty under Article 157, Srivara said. Chairit has already been charged with possessing fake licence plates found in the vehicle and has been the subject of a disciplinary probe.

 

On August 23, Yingluck fled in the vehicle to Sa Kaew province, where she reportedly crossed the border. She was subsequently found to have reached Dubai, which she later left to travel to the United Kingdom. 

 

She did not attend the scheduled August 25 reading of the Supreme Court verdict in the case against her relating to her government’s rice-pledging scheme. The verdict, which was finally read on September 27, found her guilty on some charges and she was jailed in absentia for five years without suspension.

 

Srivara said he has filed a complaint with the Immigration Bureau against Yingluck for violation of the immigration law.

Under the law, an arrest warrant would be issued next.

 

He also said he has expedited a complaint filed to Interpol, asking for a “red notice” – effectively an international arrest warrant – to be issued against Yingluck.

 

The Royal Thai Police’s Foreign Affairs Division has informed him that a “blue notice” must be issued first. This would ask Interpol members to help locate, identify or obtain information about Yingluck and her whereabouts. 

 

Srivara said Yingluck was already a convict, and he believed that her case was not political, but about corruption, so she should be subject to a red notice.

 

Srivara said Thai police had contacted their counterparts in the UK and were waiting to hear back. 

 

The United Arab Emirates had notified Thai authorities that Yingluck had left Dubai for the UK on September 11, he said.

When was the DNA sent off? Thought that could be done here in 1-2 days. Up there with the US in being the best at testing DNA. But the poor Americans are still trying to work out how to question the DNA on where it was at the time and where it was going.

Especially at assisted escapes for asylum seekers. They even masterminded the escape of genocidist Pol Pot from Cambodia when he had to get out of town quick. Thai agents entered that country and assisted him in fleeing to save his worthless skin so he could live out his life in comfortable retirement in southern Thailand.

(War in Thailand??) fore me she can take the 4 year`s and finish whit that, if she still live after 4 year in jail in Thailand.And a think the Government asked her to travel out from Thailand so it's calm in Thailand before the election in 20?? or 25??

I don't think that would cause civil war in Thailand. Of course the reds and ptp would try to incinerate - but to no avail or at leased short lived only

The best they can come up with is she is guilty that she was informed of the corruption of others.

Its just criminal negligence.. just as she has been tried for.. Nothing special. Its been proven she knew about the corruption and it would have been her job to stop it. She did not do so costing the state an 30 billion that is criminal negligence. I know it does not suit your world view but its a criminal act non the less. 

 

Yl has been notified about the fake rice deals.. she took action by removing her minister (Boonsong the one that went to jail). By doing so she acknowledged knowledge of the fake G2G trades. But she failed to cancel the trades. I am sure that it had nothing to do that rice traders connected to her brother were benefiting.. im sure that was just coincidental.

Have you read the full verdict report and been privy to all the supporting evidence?

 

Perhaps you'd care to offer an explanation on why she didn't cancel the fraudulent deals and instigate a criminal investigation into the whole affair rather than just sack someone? 

 

And perhaps explain how never attending any meetings, especially in light of the above, that you appointed yourself to chair, wasn't negligent?

Thaksin could only buy one not 8 

 

It was a clear cut case.. everyone knew this before we all knew about the fake G2G deals way back when they were in the news. Now it has just been proven in a court of law. She did nothing.. (probably intentional because her brothers minions benefited but that is something we cant prove, but it is proven she did nothing and knew about the fake G2G deals). You can argue all you want but it was a fair case, they did not put the rice program on trial.. just her negligence.
