The mayor of Pattaya has told restaurants who have set up tables and chairs in two sois to clear off within three days.

If they don't he has promised they will be prosecuted.

Anan Jaroenchasri told the Thai media yesterday that he had sent his thessakit minions down to Na Klua Soi 31 and Soi 33 after complaints from the public.

He admitted that this has been a problem for a long time. But the restaurants now needed to follow the orders and policy of the government and return the road to the residents.

He gave them three days to comply, reported Sophon Cable TV.

If they still haven't retreated by then, they will be prosecuted.

500 baht fine?

They've been rewarding the mayor, and his buddies, for years to continue blocking the roadways with their tables and awnings.....but the boys in green are more prevalent now.

I think it's going to hit the fan soon!

Errrr, or three weeks, or three months or whenever, big bark, no bite,

make noise, works for few days, than back to normal.....

Great that they start to get more of the shit out of Pattaya. Maybe soon going to be a city worth visiting.

Hey Get Real. They might be moving this "shit" out of two sois but there is a tsunami of the real stuff pouring into the sea and onto the beaches every day. The administration can only deal with little guys, not with the real problems. There is no way that I would ever visit Pattaya and I tell all my overseas friends to avoid it too.

ok long time ago i was a regular customer of soi 33

nobody of the residents are " disturbed" by the tables.

The fact is, the only who is disturbed are the chinese Tourbuses who want to use the soi to exit to the blocked naklua every night.

It would kill all buissenes of soi 33, due to airpolution... naklua is stinking of polution and soi 33 was the last " heaven" here.

the whole area is a desaster of traffic. the last funccion natural born soi would be dead after.

who cars chinesse first-farang go home

the big buissenes is in back side of soi 33/31

soi 33 will be not back to normal in some days.... bad!!

i feel sorry for pattaya, the samll bu owners and people..the city  goes down "step by step"

This is the bit I never understand.

Dont give them three days or three hours or three minutes. Confiscate the tables now and prosecute them now.

Endless procrastination is the bane of Thailand.

You stopped giving my pals free meals, stopped giving out the envelopes.

Ok now i will put a stop to you.:post-4641-1156693976:
