Yob who jumped on woman's car and threatened her gets away with a wai and 500 baht

The student who was filmed kicking a woman's car, jumping on the roof and threatening her gave the victim a wai in apology yesterday.

But police said that it was not enough to do that and pay for the damage - he had broken the criminal law.

So they fined him 500 baht.

Natthakrit Tulaphan, 21, turned up at Nong Kham police station in Sri Racha with his father, a civil servant.

There they spent half an hour with cops meeting Patchamon Sariwanich, 40, the company employee whose car he had jumped on after an incident on the motorway.

Natthakrit admitted everything and said he would pay in cash for all the damage. He had kicked the car all round and jumped on the roof - all filmed by a member of the public not connected with the incident.

Police said that the case could not be settled just with a wai and compensation as Natthakrit had insulted and threatened Patchamon.

So they fined him 500 baht and everyone went home.

I’ll go threaten a Thai and trampoline on their car..... see how far 500 baht and a wai gets me..... Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect

  • Agreed, giving all the wrong signals for unprovoked violence disgusting decision. It is not in the hands of the Police to make such a decision the decision should be made in a court of law.

Disgusting 'justice' yet a few posters claim 'justice' abounds here at all levels!  and that poor girl was forced to Wai him back - that's how it works as I've seen it in action. Police are very threatening under these circumstances and if you don't comply they shout and become abusive.

500 baht? why so much? why go overboard? Have mercy on the man,

I'm sure the next guy will be utterly terrified from repeating such

stupid and ape like deeds knowing he's going to have to be hit with

the full brunt of the Thai law, a whole 500 Baht fine....

500baht.

Who called it?

Yesterdays post, someone said 500 and everybody agreed. How predictable can they be...

This might become a side hobby for TV members - predicting amounts of fines. :cheesy:

What he has learned here and the message being sent to all Thai's is, its ok to this, as we will only expect you to provide a wai and pay a 500 baht fine.

I am not going to say anything more, as this is not my country, I am just a guest here, but I hope, if I take this guy out for jumping on my car roof, I get the same treatment, although doubt it 555

His father, a civil servant, went to the police station. Say no more.

She certainly does not look happy that she has to wai to him as well.

The article says "Natthakrit admitted everything and said he would pay in cash for all the damage". What are the odds on that ever happening?

Lock the tard up until he pays all the damages and then smile for a picture with a gift basket.

Civil servant father clearly is incapable of educating his child correctly ad should be fired.

This country is well headed to well. If that is the punishment that such a behavior deserves, no wonder people will prefer take matters in their own hands... Sad times.

500 baht and a wai, they must have been up all night considering that punishment!!

That will sure prevent him from going off on the next person who honks at him.

One day, taking inflation into account, the ball park figure might rise to 600 baht, although probably not in my lifetime.

Yep ............From the top down.

500 Baht fine Oh wow And the wai I just dont know how he can stand it :sorry: Just a bloody joke the laws have become here

Should have done it my way!

Sometimes it is difficult to have respect for this country.....

140 kph on the 7 and camera fine is 500 baht.... seems incongruous

Don't be daft......:saai:

Deliberate damage , so he should pay for a new car .

Read the whole article. He also have to pay for the damages on the car. It will probably cost more then 10000 baht. The police fine is just a symbolic sum.

Do let us know how you get on mate.

Parenthood here is a big joke....almost as big a joke as the Police Dept. So many articles in the past week describing unbelievable behavior by kids with hardly any consequences. These kids need to serve time in a juvenile detention facility (if one exists) to fully understand the severity of their actions.

I do not know how much damage he had done to the car but I think this goes beyond anti social behaviour, I do think for minor offences the police could issue a fixed penalty fine, but to me this goes beyond that and he should have his day in court.

Whereby the court should make sure he or his family pay damages and for this sort of behaviour he should have to do demeaning community service or get banged up for a few weeks.
