BANGKOK, 9th October 2017 (NNT) – The Constitution Drafting Commission (CDC) believes the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) will not delay the general election.

CDC chairman Meechai Ruchuphan said today the charter drafting organ is currently working on the two organic bills pertaining to Members of Parliament and members of the Senate. The chairman expects the drafting process to be completed no later than November after which the bills will be presented to the legislature for review.

Meechai expressed his belief that the lawmakers won't turn down the two draft acts which would have the effect of postponing the general election, adding that whether or not drastic changes to the bills are proposed, is up to the legislative assembly.

Meechai also denied allegations that the government is attempting to cause a delay in the election or attempting to stay in power, noting that everyone including Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha is tired of answering such questions.

Then do yourselves a favour and tell the truth for once, which is 'There will be elections when we are good and ready, not a minute before. Right, you at the back, I don't like your tone. There's another 6 months added...'

Most people are getting tired of asking too.

'I'm sorry I misled you before, and then I did it again.  Last time I clarified the issue for everyone it turned out to be incorrect.  I'm sorry about that.  But you can believe me this time.  Honest.  Trust me, we are Thai!'

What Lawmakers ? The NLA ? oh my god, that's a rubber stamp parliament. Pray tell, why was all of this not part of the "approved " constitution. People have voted for a vastly incomplete document, that much is certain now. And they have voted in an election that violated pretty much every democratic principle.

Why would the government delay an election anyway ? It's not like the "approved" constitution will return power to the Thai electorate. That has all been prevented already.

Bettter remain quiet, people can smell the bullshit from miles away.
