Australia skydiving: Three dead after 'mid-air collision'

 

Three skydivers have died in Queensland after an apparent mid-air collision, say Australian police.

 

Paramedics and police were called to Mission Beach, south of Cairns.

 

Two men in their 30s, and a woman in her 50s, were found dead at the scene, said Queensland police in a statement.

How sad and how traumatic for the person who described what they saw.

When I saw "collision" it sadly reminded me of another very different collision between some Aussie skydivers and the plane that had just launched them.

It happen near Rabaul in the New Guinea Islands about 1968 when the pilot turned back to observe them but didn't know they were suspended in an updraft.

How sad.  R.I.P.
